My husband and I along with 3 children stayed in the apartment of this
beautiful hotel Easter weekend. The staff was so helpful and friendly.
The day we arrived we enjoyed a wonderful 4 course meal with a bottle of
wine overlooking Verona. We both agreed it was the best meal we had on
our holiday. We also took the wine tour of the families land, kids loved
seeing all the farm animal too, the tour ended with a wine tasting given
by the producer himself Geovonni, thank you for a wonderful day. Th. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
Fantastic quiet location, great value, amazing food and wine but most of all, the owner and staff could not be faulted. When my ipad failed to work, Giovanni lent me his. When that wouldn't access the sites I wanted, he let me use the office computer. He also called our next hotel to change our booking. Silvia, in charge of the wine cellars, Catherine, in charge of the restaurant.... in fact, all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Great advice on where to vist, park and eat - all go.
THE hotel es beautiful, accomodations and host erre very nice. Wine was excellent and the view from the hotel was amazing. Located Just 5 minutes in bus from downtown, and the bus stop was 30mts from the hotel entrance. Very recommended. To get to the hotel from Verona Train station Just take bus 11,12 or 13 and go down in Maffrei stop, then take the bus 70 direction sommavalle and it Will be the last stop (in front of THE roundabout) ride takes about 20min.
The service was excellent. Francesca is beyond wonderful. The vineyards and olive orchard are beautiful. The view of the country side is magnificent. There is a horse, geese and chickens further into the vineyard side of the property that children will love. The food and wine is excellent!.
This hotel is beautiful and family run We were 2 friends travelling with
my 2 daughters and loved our stay here dinner meal and breakfast were
excellent. The grounds and view are stunning and convenient to site see
in Verona during day. We stayed in Quadruple annex homey and
comfortable.
Location was beautiful with rooms opening out to the garden with magnificent views over Verona City. Peaceful and quiet and nice to have the cat and dogs wnadering around. Room was cool and comfortable. Stayed an extra night as it was so lovely and relaxing.
The staff were very friendly and treated us like family. Everything was exceptionally clean and beautifully laid out. The absolute best is having breakfast or enjoying a glass of their wonderful wine with the most amazing view of Verona as a backdrop.
The view from the accomodation at San Mattia was stunning. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking that view was wonderful. Rooms were spotless , a good size and well equipped .
Food good but needed more variety. Same risotto two nights running.
Very big rooms, with heated floors. Fantastic location with great views of the city. We only stayed 1 day but would have loved to stay longer and indulged in some onsite wine tasting. It would be a great place to spend a few days relaxing.
We liked everything about this agritourismo. The staff is accommodating, rooms very nice and food was as delicious as any trattoria we have encountered. A very restful place and close to town...minutes away yet a country setting.
A lovely little place with a beautiful view over Verona - the quintessential Italian countryside experience complete with a relaxed but interesting setting and fresh ingredients to ensure an amazing dinner sets off your stay.
The location is beautyfull as it's location on a small hill above Verona, this gives u the best view of the city of Verona and a great time to relax and drink one of their homemade wines.
It's not cheap but it shouldn't be.
My wife and I spent 5 wonderful days and nights at the San Mattia and every aspect of the stay was fautless and I would recommend this hotel to anybody. We are exploring the possibility of returning in the near future.
Great view of Verona, veryclose to the old part of the city. Great breakfast. Went on a tour of the winery and tasting which was very interesting. Clean rooms. Had a dinner at the restaurant which was also very good.
Excellent restaurant - no choice on menu but a set meal and it was fantastic!! One of the best meals ever and all personally or locally produced! Opportunity for wine-tasting before dinner. Great view over Verona!.
The hotel is very close from Verona city center, the view is amazing, but also the breakfast and the restaurant, staff very attentive and with big smiles always happy to help and to guide people whatever the query.
Very comfortable accommodation with a beautiful view of Verona. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately we didn't eat in the restaurant but tasted their excellent wine.
The location above Verona was excellent, and the English-speaking staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't get to experience the best of their cuisine but what we had was excellent.
We loved San Mattia. Amazing (very friendly + helpful) staff, great location, great wine, great rooms and loved that we could bring our big dog with us. We will definetly go back.
I loved the farm environment and country roads. The dinner was my best
meal in Italy, and excellent value for money. The directions for
reaching the farm were very helpful.
One of the best hotel where I been ever.recommend for everybody.you
won't regrets.nice design,warm atmosphere,friendly staff.i really

The owner stayed until 2330 to receive us! The room is clean and comfortable, the view in the garden overseeing Verona is unbeatable, we spent hours there!.
Beautiful property with very friendly staff. We had a great time on the vineyard tour and wine tasting. The breakfast was also good. Would love to go back!.
Great views, friendly staff, quiet location, plenty of parking, good value breakfast if you want it, great bathroom, comfy bed, short drive to free parking.
This agriturismo is a true beauty spot. The view over Verona is stunning. Don't miss the wine tasting with Giovanni and the dinner.
The location, service, facility, food and wine were WONDERFUL!! We highly recommend Agriturismo San Mattia when visiting Verona.
The room was beautiful and very spacious. Great city view from the room. Staff were very nice and helpful. We,ll stay again.
great location not far from Verona city centre. Very friendly staff. Superb view and very nice accommodation. Great food.
- Owner and staff were very freindly and helpful
- the veiw over the town from the room was amazing
- value was great.
Every thing was great. The room was very clean and had a balcony with a view over the .center of Verona.
Great location, friendly helpfull staff, comfortable and clean and reasonable priced.
Helpful and kind staff. Beautiful scenery. Quite and calm place
to stay in.
Location is far beyond any expectations, very friendly and helpful people.
Wonderful food in the restaurant. great view and warm, friendly people.
Loved being out of town and with the most amazing views over Verona.
the only minus was that the room did not air conditioning.
Wonderful place, clean rooms, amazing views.
Location
Animals
Wine tasting.
the location was great .
Nature and relaxation.
great view.
The view of Verona.
Only issue we had was getting to this hotel, but not the owner fault.
Our navigation tried to get us their by way of small narrow roads. Get
phone directions from them first, they speak great English. Once we
found it we had no problems after. Parking was perfect.
WIFI wasn't available in the bedrooms.
Nothing Can't wait to return.
Fridge didnt work but was repaired after we asked.
No remote for the TV.
Reception closes early.
For some reason the actual location does not show on a GPS and it did take a little longer to find.
On Monday and Tuesdays restaurant was closed , no problem , but thought we could get a drink . Bar closed. On our arrival no one to meet us and door was locked, took a while to gain entry . We then didn't know if anyone was coming to let us in. We had been told not to telephone ahead since Agriturissmo had arranged our taxi.
Meals were rushed for guests if other events like weddings also taking place.
Leaving this unique experience.
Nothing! It was perfect!.
Everything was great! Really.
I would stay there again when I visit Verona.
Nothing.
It would be nice if they offered espresso drinks at breakfast....
There was nothing on the grounds to eat besides breakfast. If we wanted a snack or a meal (besides breakfast), you had to go down into the city. The restaurant is only open certain days for dinner, and we stayed on the days it was closed. So not being able to grab a snack or food there was a a bit frustrating.
My room was tucked away behind some others, so didn't have a great
view. There was also not enough hot water for a bath.
Our room didn't have a TV remote and the TV was mounted from the ceiling.
It was self catering but no bottle opener, toaster, no cafetiere or microwave.
Don't trust your GPS and do not try any muddy gravel road. It does not work. There is an easy way to get to the agriturismo: Put "Via Marsala" into your GPS. Once you are there put in the address of Agriturismo San Matteo.
Not so keen on the food, small portion and a bit cold.
The rooms and the bathroom were too cold. We arrived mid-October in the rainy season and there was no heating in our building, we froze.
The first night was hot and A/C did not work as they haD to do some work on it to switch it to cold. We did not need it in the following nights.
Poor breakfast.
The description of room facilities on booking is not on reality! For
instance, the room didnt have a fridge or a tea & coffee set ?! It
would be great to have it in the room.
The place needs a snackbar or vending machines for snacks and beverages.
very cold floor, TV is too small and not well positioned.
It was all lovely.
Nothing but you do need to be aware of bus times.
No free Internet in the room. Early checkout (10 AM). If you don't have a car, the location outside Verona can be problematic.
In the rooms there should be tea/coffee making facilities as after a whole day sightseeing etc we returned to the Hotel at around 10.00pm and everywhere was closed we could not have a night cap .
Food & drinks not aviable all the time, beside no boiler and coffee & tea set aviable !!.
extra 40 euro for 2 days. we were informed about only before checkout. not fair..
Considering it's an agriturismo, the breakfast was VERY poor and "commercial".
Our room was 400m away from the main building.
The staff person was very new and did not know very much. We were
told the restaurant was closed, but when the owner asked if enjoyed
the restsurant the next day, he was shocked to learn that we were
told it was closed. We asked for a tour of the vineyards and plan our
day to meet him at 4pm, 10 minutes before, we were told that he could
not make it,.
