This family-run guest house is a 5-minute walk from Cochem town centre and the Moselle Promenade. Pension Hendriks offers a panoramic terrace with views of surrounding vineyards. The owner picked me up at the train station and gave me an orientation to the area when I arrived. Beautifully laid out, delicious, and varied breakfast was available every morning, with the option to eat it indoors or on the terrace. The staff is very attentive to your needs. Wi-fi goes off exactly at 9pm every night, which is good in a way, since it forced me NOT to spend too much of my stay on the computer. When it was on, the wi-fi was fast and reliable.

The breakfast is very good, really comprehensive. A communal room with cooled drinks, board games and folders of activities in the region make you feel well looked after. Bleser family took excellent care of me and my 2 year old daughter. They picked us up and even dropped us off at the train station. A small bag of candies and a special mug for breakfast made my little one smile every morning. The breakfast buffet (though being cold only) was rich enough. Very recommended hostel overall. - Kind staff - Spacious room - Convenient common room with tea and coffee facilities, friidge, games, etc. - Gorgeous breakfast - NOTE: Ask owner for directions if you arrive between 10am and 6pm. (GPS may try to direct you through streets that are closed to traffic during that time). Very close to the town of Cochem - five minute walk. Quiet, and nice breakfast. Construction next door mars the scenery from the terrace a little, and sometimes during the day, there is construction noise. Really only a minor point: the matrasses were a bit hard for us. There is a construction going on next door. So it's noisy from 7:30 in the morning. Wi-fi was turned off each night at around 8. Rooms a bit dated. Check-in staff not unfriendly, but not friendly - just about the business of checking in. Shower tiny for my 6'2" husband. Perhaps if we had a kettle in the room, to make hot drinks that would be good. But, it is a minor thing, as you can make hot drinks by the sun terrace!. Walking up the Hill from town ha ha. Very uncomfortable access by car as "normal" access is closed for traffic from 10 to 18. No gps navigator can find the way, after several attempts we were advised how to approach. Nothing not to like!. Wi-fi switched off after 22:00 o'clock .... stupid.
