This B&B is a delight for the senses and provides a smorgasboard of aesthetically pleasing treasures. Alexander, who is the most hospitable of hosts, has filled his house with beloved objets d’art, plants and pictures of all kinds, which all combine to create a whimsical fantasy world. The building dates back to the 14th century and has beautiful stone floors, ornate ceilings and light streaming in from its floor-to- ceiling windows overlooking the quiet cobblestoned streets of Montpellier.

He not only recommended restaurants but made the reservations for us, gave us advice on what to see (down to which paintings in the art gallery!) and gave a warm, colourful and unforgettable dimension to our stay in Montpellier. Also the location is great, right in the heart of the old city. If you are after an experience that is more personal than staying at a hotel, I would recommend Chambre d'Autres. Chambres d'Autres is in a perfect location, and is one of the most charming places we've ever stayed. Alex is most helpful, with recommendations for food and day trips, phoned for a taxi on our departure, and provided wonderful breakfasts (so much we could never finish!). We would book again with him in a heartbeat, and can't imagine staying anywhere else while in Montpellier. This is absolutely the nicest place we have ever stayed in. Stunning decor, wonderfully accommodating host and a perfect location. I've never seen this kind of care and love gone into a room, just stop reading this and book here asap. We miss it already!. The style is astonishing! Original and functional, elegant without being pretentious. Absolutely calm and very well situated. A dreamful atmospehre. The owner is very sympathetic and charming. Nice owner, helful also with tips about local attractions/restaurants/bars. - Amazing breakfast Staying in an old house in the centre is an unforgettable experience. Friendly host and atmosphere of the property. Proximity to all atractions in the town of Montpellier. For 3 people the room was a little crowded, better suited to a couple. And being mid-summer we miss not having air-con. That we couldn't stay longer. There were no negatives at all. Hard to find any negative aspect. The bathroom being upstairs although very private. The photos deceiving room filled with too much cluttter and memorablier - It is part of a 1st floor apartment with steep staircase to bathroom- no tv instructions - bad lighting-aerage amenities- rated 1 star b&b.
