I stayed more than a week in the dorm rooms. Overall great experience in comparison to other hostels in China. Nice location, lots of chinese and foreign food options around, and Jing'an Temple is one of the "city centers". Beds were ok, with good blankets and good AC, and the lockers in the rooms are very big. Internet was very reliable and fast

Excellent English speaking staff! I was in China for 3 months and heard more English at this hostel then some of the expensive hotels I was in.
Everyone was extremely friendly, great for college-aged people if you want to make friends.
Staff is willing to suggest places to go and give you directions to get there.
There's also delicious western breakfast choices on the rooftop bar from 8am - 12 pm.
Extremely safe area. -
The hostel sent us a detailed map of how to get there when they sent the e mail confirmation of our booking. We went from the plane from Canada onto the excellent metro to our stop. Very neat location in a houtong (old alley way) with lots of local colour. It is right in the heart of the city and the staff were great.
As seniors we had rented a comfortable room with a private bath which was very satisfactory for us.

Rooms were clean and hostel is in a great locations, very close to

Staff, rooms and price. -
Overall okay place to stay. Although I would consider it a plan B if everything around the peoples square is full. Room was spacious, clean bed, toiletries are provided. A 10 minute walk to the nearest subwaystation. Staff was helpfull. The airconditioning did a good job at keeping us warm. Good wifi.

I took a single room for one night and I liked the atmosphere of the hostel very much. It is located in a nice street, not far away from the tube station and absolutely in the center. Everything is nearby. I would highly recommend the hostel. -

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. WAY better than I was expecting. We had the family room with two bedrooms and one bathroom all to ourselves. The beds were comfortable and had cool headboards. There was a pretty garden, a good cafe with coffee and food and a stiff gin and tonic, and a few nice people hanging around but not too crowded.

I am a huge fan of the Chinese styled architecture in Mingtown Etour. Love love love those cats in the hostel, love the ornate room and love the bar/cafe by the little fish pond. It's been a great experience living in Mingtown.
The location is great (right in the middle of Shanghai), you can walk to so many places from there or take the tube so easily - the tube station is just under 10-min walk away!

Location was wonderful! The staff can speak english, not fluently, but they will make an effort to help you if you ask. There is a communal kitchen where you can heat stuff up and a communal water cooker; you get a thermos bottle and you can fill that to make tea or something in your room. This hostel will provide a wonderful sleeping arrangement and good access to Shanghai: three main subway stations nearby ( dashijie (5min walking distance), peopl's square (10 min), yuyuan station(10min))

Just 1 minute walk from Luban station. pretty convenient to reach the bund, xintiandi, lujiazui, nanjing road, etc.. as it is located downtown. Well-spoken english staffs. -

It is very close to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and railway station, in fact, it is the closest among all the other YHA in Shanghai, so the location is very convenient. The staff reserved my bed until almost 1:00 a.m, really appreciated it!! And the public toilet and shower room are very clear, enjoyable! -

The place is beautiful - design of the hostel, especially the public area, is so comfortable and friendly. I only stayed for one night but spent all my time here (an evening and a day).

The whole layout of this place is amazing. I travel a lot and always
looking for places that feel like home and this is definitely one of
them. There are wooden furnitures everywhere, airy windows, cozy fish
pools with bamboo and the private room I was in was comfy. It's
quiet, people here seem respectful and chill which is lovely. I will
come back again.

Almost all the staff spoke English. I stayed in a private double room and it was spacious and clean enough, the bathroom is very good, and the mattress OK. Wifi in the room. Quiet at night. Perfect location, close to the main street to go shopping, and to the line 2 metro station which takes you straight to Pudong.
