Location, staff wine in late afternoon
The size of hotel, friendliness of staff, breakfast on the patio, meeting other travellers. We much prefer a small informal place even ifnot the most modern.
Quiet, handy location, kitchenette and staff.
Excellent location close to Seattle center, Key Arena, easy access to downtown. Friendly inn, with small refrigerators, stove tops, microwaves and kitchenware - helps as Seattle can be quite expensive for travel.
Although they continue to update, there are some fairly easy to do changes (like replacing the bath/shower wall backing) that would really improve the overall feel (they updated the faucets but not the stall surround so it's great appliances on a rusty, chipping background). Our 3rd year staying and each year they have lost amenities that were integral to some of their hospitality charm.
Very close to many important tourist sites
Old hotel. Rooms are small, bathroom needed to be upgraded. Windows either didn't open or almost killed you when they shut!
The staff was helpful and the rooms had a small, equipped kitchen
The complimentary breakfast was quite poor. Some noise in the rooms facing the front road.
Kitchen facilities in the room but no plug for sink or kettle.Had to boil water for a drink in a saucepan. No hairdryer either.Stayed only one night even though we had originally booked for 3.
