Set in stunning grounds, the Petwood Hotel is steeped in history if you are interested in WWII, which we were. Our room was an 'executive double' and very large, with coffee/tea making facilities in the room. On arrival we were upgraded to the Weigall Suite which was the size of a small cottage and delightful. Very friendly staff, delicious food and a great ambiance in the hotel. We have a Dambuster connection so the Squadron Bar was of particular interest. The bonus was an antique fair just round the corner from our room! Woodhall Spa is an attractive village with interesting shops and amenities. -
I came to Petwood specifically because it was the Officer's Quarters for 617 Squadron. The Squadron Bar is a wonderful tribute and memorial to all members of 617, as are all the many paintings.
It is to the owner's great credit t6hat this link with the past is maintained. I shall visit again and tell my like minded friends.
