Positive welcome. Easy registration. Lift to all floors.
Room spacious and being on the corner of the building I had to sets of windows which made the room bright. Phone, tea making facilities, desk, ample drawer space. Bathroom good which was shared with one other whom I never met during my stay. The building is over looked by offices and any noisy events raking place on theThames will be heard.
All clean and tidy.
Yes, it is a hall of residence for students but I was happy with my stay. Beyo. tous commentaires »
The hotel was just what we needed as we were on a hen weekend. Very pleased with the location, the staff were very friendly and helpful when we wanted to drop all the bags off early prior to a show. The rooms all had single beds which was more acceptable than double beds. The hotel was very good value for money including the breakfast. The bar was very reasonable and stayed open as long as we wanted to drink which was into the early hours and the staff were very accommodating putting on musi.
This was a very pleasant surprise seeing as it was student accomadation. The location was excellent with 4 tube stations all within a short walk and + bus routes. Area felt safe seeing as it was in a big city. Plenty of places to eat and local stores nearby. The place was quiet and no problems getting to sleep even though there were plenty of school parties staying there. The rooms were spacious with plenty of drawers and wardrobe space. The place was clean and the shower excellent even if you .
LSE Bankside House is in an ideal location for many of Londons famous landmarks and places of interest. If you want comfortable accommodation without the frills associated with the chain hotels, then this place could be just what you are looking for. If you are on a tight budget ~ its going to be your best option. You are not going to get anything else to compare with this for its price or location anywhere in London.........you even get breakfast included in the price! It will certainly be my .
Perfect cleanliness. And still providing wash things in nice presentation at the budget price I paid. Very friendly staff. The location is brilliant...I was brought up just down the road and had no idea that the area has developed like that. Excellent food.
The feeling of being a student all over again! Really did like that. And meeting all the people going to theatres, etc. Exciting. I would make more of this when you advertise it - that it's an international meeting place.
The location is simply amazing. The price is excellent. I really enjoyed staying there and I will probably stay there again should I visit London again. Close to the Southwark tube station, surrounded by fantastic restaurants (leon, del aziz, the refinery to begin with) and to Tate modern which was a huuge plus for me. The borough is a fantastic mix of old and new and I really enjoyed that.
Good location, nice staff, quite comfortable, and my room was quiet. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. In contrast with hostels, there is a private hallway which gives access to your door, your neighbour's and bathroom's door. In this sense you have easy access to the toilet and share the bathroom only with a neighbour.
For a centrally located and very affordable option, LSE Bankside is perfect. Plentiful cafeteria style breakfast each day. A cheap self-service laundry is provided; a real bonus when travelling to London and a more affordable option than the local alternatives. Minutes walk to London Bridge tube station and plenty of buses.
1. I paid for a single room, shared bathroom, but got a double room with own bathroom
2. They told me there was no wi-fi but I was able to get the wi-fi from the shard (the staff did not even know this)
3. The breakfast was very good
4. The staff were very friendly and helpful
5. Value for money was excellent.
Very central - easy to get to other parts of London by tube, river or bus
Restaurants had very efficient and helpful service
Restaurant/pub food prices at Bankside and Camden were very similar to Bristol (good value for london) - could get into pubs in Camden but not at bankside.
As a mature business man but having a personal visit to London, I was looking for cheap, clean accommodation. Bankside house appealed to me as it was the office I used to in during the 1980's!
It was great VFV (I was allocated the flat on 8th floor!).
Affordable, comfortable, excellent position for ease of access to all
parts of central London, directly behind Tate Modern and yet quiet.
Embankment walks just minutes away and so too the Globe. Good breakfast
included in the price.
The hotel was situated near the south bank and close to all the interesting parts of London which we wanted to visit, and was very reasonably priced. The breakfast was good and we could help ourselves to anything we liked.
Location - ten minutes from Blackfriars and Southwark tube, a little further to London Bridge. Immediately behind tate Modern, 20 minutes walk into the West End, National Theatre and Waterloo.
Very affordable.
Location is the best point, very central and everything available (transport, supermarket, restaurants) at walking distance. Very good breakfast, large choice of products. Room clean and well furnished.
The friendliness of the staff and the fantastic location. We were even upgraded to a nicer room as it was my boyfriend's Birthday which was a lovely touch. The pillows were also really comfortable!.
LSE is the perfect place for staying a weekend/week in london. It is clean, feels safe and at a good price. The location just behind Tate is brilliant. Only minus is the queue for breakfast.
The lodgings were okay for the price. Situation was central and near the underground. The rooms were tidy but a bit spartan. Breakfast was copious and good. Definitely worth recommending.
Awesome location, 3 min walk to Tate Modern and Southbank generally.
Great breakfast choice.
Great local places to eat, supermarket etc..
10 min walk to underground station.
Fantastic pricing for centre of London. Makes a quick stay very easy and cheap. Clean, friendly staff and very good breakfast which is included in the cheap room! Excellent.
Location is fantastic, plenty of restaurants and bars, Thames a five minute walk, buses, taxis, trains all easily available, good filling breakfast, clean rooms.
The proximity to public transport and major sites of interest. The breakfast was excellent and despite the sometimes many customers never had to wait very long.
Very convinient location, good rooms, filling breakfast, typical honest student accomodation. Clean thoroughly, good value for money (particularly in London!).
The location was perfect for me, as I was in London mainly to see "The Tempest" at the Shakespeare's Globe theatre.
Also, I found my room very cozy.
Excellent location close to the Thames, the Globe Theatre and Tate Modern. Very good value for the location and a decent breakfast. Helpful staff.
Location was excellent and the staff friendly. Ability to leave bags
after you had checked out was a back saver. Excellent value for money.
v comfortable bed, v quiet, v,. warm, v clean, v secure, pleasant staff, everything I needed. not a bad price for such a great location.
The convenience and the pleasant helpful staff. The room was quite
spacious and while the furniture was basic it was pretty comfortable.
I liked the big elevators compared to everywhere else in Europe. Free
breakfast, lots to choose from and great location!.
Location. South Bank of Thames close to Globe theatre, Millenium Bridge. Walking distance St Pauls, Old Bailey etc.
Size of the rooms.
The reception staff were lovely and welcoming considering the stress they must have been under.
Great idea to use student rooms, clean and fresh, excellent location, bar prices good, breakfast was brilliant.
It was simple cheap warm and clean, even came with breakfast, great place to stay right in the heart of London.
Staff were extremely helpful and efficient. Very clean and well run.
Great location. Decent breakfast.
The location is perfect, the room was big and clean, the staff was helpful, the breakfast was good.
Efficient,polite,helpful staff.
Clean and comfortable.
Able to leave luggage for later collection.
Clean, basic accommodation. Surprisingly good shower. Nice to have kettle. Breakfast good.

It was exactly what I needed - no frills but everything that I required was there.
Location! In front of the Tate Modern and 2 min walk away from the Globe.
Cheap!.
The staff were very welcoming, and the location is excellent.
It felt very safe.

Great location, quiet at night
Excellent breakfast
Good value for money.
It's location was good. It fit our budget. Breakfast was very good.
Rooms were very hot especially with three or four people to a room as the ventilation is very limited. Although the guests that were in the rooms at the front said theirs was cooler than the ones at the back.
Only problem was the matress which was a little shallow. It was ok for 3/4 nights but I pity the students who have to sleep on these beds for a full term.
Not a single complaint. I wholeheartedly recommend LSE Bankside to anyone. Its not 5*......, But it IS 5* value!!.
I asked them to call a cab on my last day and they told me to use the phone, which I did and couldn't get an answer from the cab company. They didn't help me further so I had to walk to the street on my own with my 4 pieces of luggage. But it's okay because they were kinda busy and I managed to grab a cab eventually.
The breakfast was good, but the 6 items limitation is quite annoying, specially because if you take 2 peaces of cheese and a ham, half of your items are gone.
No internet access.
The beds in my room were not much more than folding campbeds; very narrow and uncomfortable. Lighting in the room was quite poor. On the nights that the bar operates there is a great deal of noise from patrons smoking outside which often went until the early hours of the morning.
That it is only open in the summer.
Road traffic too busy - buses held up
Tried to eat in local pubs on bankside during the week. All the pubs completely full with no spare seats and people also standing outside
Cafes at venues such as Kew Gardens and Science museum were expensive - about £14 for a light meal and a drink.
Only downside was the building overall was a bit spartan. Understandable given its use but this would out off people wanting a more up market city break.
Your greatest selling point is a safe, clean, low budget environment targeted at youngsters on a budget. I would give it full marks for that.
Nothing really. This is good, budget accommodation in the heart
of London.
There was nothing we didn't like.
Nothing you wouldnt expect for the price in central London. Basic facilities, no TV in room, fairly spartan bed. It is a hall of residence providing a place in London for LSE students - and that is what you get, it doesn't pretend to be a 3 star hotel. And it isn't!.
Our room was hot, you can not completely open the window (only partially from above), a fan was needed, available at reception. Staff not very friendly, they did not inform about need to register the car for parking place and wanted to charge a fine. If many guests in the hotel, queue at breakfast very long.
I got what I paid for.
Take earplugs.
Be prepared to maybe queue for breakfast.
Only downside is that the cheap rooms maybe only for July to October due to students coming back.
No wifi. Towels not changed toilets didn't flush first 24 hours, had to ask them to fix..
Nothing at all!.
Terrible bed! Had back acke every morning. (this could be a problem, if you need a good mattress to sleep)
The neighbourhood is noisy. Even though, we followed the advice and asked (and were given) a room in a high floor, noise could be heard at night. But we slept, anyway (would not say this is a major problem).
It was a bit noisy a little too early in the morning, but nothing unbearable.
No drinkable water in the rooms.
Long questions for breakfast but it went pretty quick.
very spartan, shower very basic, good comfortable a student room, not like a hotel at all. But fine for the price.
Sometimes noise from the bars outside could be heard but it died down
before I slept and closing the windows helped.
I did not like that there was no wifi! They did have 2 computers for
your use but there was always a line of people waiting to use it.
Not much.
I did not receive the email that told us we were to check in at 6pm. I only found out on arrival at 11am.
Management did not deal with checking out students and checking in customers appropriately and this should be rectified for the next academic year.
WC was in a terrible state, but this does not reflect the cleaning staff, it is just an observation. A bottle of bleach would tidy it up.
Can't think of anything we didn't like.
Beds dreadful. Felt like I was in an episode of "Porridge" . Possibly worst I've ever slept in (and alas, I have some back problems which were exacerbated). Staff helped to put two mattresses on top of each other on the floor. Was better, but shouldn't have to do that! Wasn't expecting luxury, but a decent nights sleep is minimum requirement. Do students spend a year in these beds? No wifi was slight problem too.
The room looked a bit worn-out, it would need a a little refreshing. The shower was´nt the best.
Toiletries very basic -was glad I'd brought my own.
It's almost impossible to have breakfast at 9am. The turn to the dining room is huge.
The fact that one bed did was not flat against the wall which made reading difficult. We changed things around which made things better.
Staff not always friendly.
The rooms were a bit shabby and in need of redecoration.
bit of black fungi in shower.
inconsiderate people making a noise when leaving early in the morning.
No available drinking water (but not a big issue).
Were advised check-in at 3pm but when we arrived at reception waited in long queue to be told check-in had been moved to 6pm.
Had to walk around with our bags for another 3 hours. Staff told us letsbookhotel.com HAD been told of change.
There was mould in the shower. The bed was uncomfortable.
