  Tres bien situe> Belle vue du loch depuis la chambre - The room we stayed in was beautiful, cosy and very clean. The bathroom was spacious, clean and we liked the separate shower cubicle. Had an excellent meal and wine in the restaurant, the prices were good and the service efficient but unobtrusive. Would recommend to anyone of any age, and definitely would return. - On arrival, we were met with a warm and friendly welcome. Good qualityfood and drink was well served, from a nicely varied menu (with all theusual favourites, as well as a few new one's) Prices of Food / Drinkwere very competitive. Standard of Room was good and the place itselfwas full of Olde World Charm. We would certainly return again if we werein the area.

  We had booked an overnight stay on the way back from Scotland. Our choice was an executive room - DB&B at a very good rate. The room was large and very comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the countryside and immaculate gardens. There were lots of 'extras' including superior toiletries, very large towelling robes, slippers, bottled water,... ce que les gens disent » chocolate, a safe and a coffee pod machine. There were 2 comfortable chairs and an excellent tv. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dini - The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. The room, although small, was immaculately decorated and very clean with lovely white crisp linen and soft fluffy towels.   We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and warm and made us tea on arrival which was badly needed. The hotel is beautiful and unique, spotless and the breakfast was one of the best we ever had. If we are in the area again we will be returning.
