Ce que les gens disent
I was very dubious about this hotel as only after I booked the hotel I
noticed a few very negative comments on the internet. I phoned the hotel
and Tom who works of the reception advised me that the hotel is very
good value for money and I will be pleasantly surprised. We took the
chance and we will make use of this hotel whenever we go to Glasgow.
Good value for money comparing to much more expensive hotels. Staff were
exceptionally helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great. There

This is a budget hotel which is well worth the nobey we paid. Breakfast was am ple and standard fare. The room was better than you would expect from this
Type of hotel. SECC is within walking distance from the hotel.
The only complaint is the short time availability of breakfast. As this hotel caters for people going to a gig they need to increase time for breakfast. It meant that people all rushed in just before 8.30am and the breakfast room could't cope with this. People who are going to gig.
Brilliant hotel , lovely staff very helpful location brill rooms very
nice clean and comfy breakfast great . Greathaving wifi free brilliant
thank you .close to secc which we attended at the wkend . 10min walk
brill .booked again go dec and will book before then if we are going to
Glasgow again. No reason and nothing not to like. We will recommend this
hotel to everyone great price beat price I've saw !!!.
Nice bright rooms. Perfect location for the secc. Staff very friendly -
although maybe a little overworked? The young lady who reserved us a
table for breakfast was polite and friendly. Although the hotel was very
busy (Meatloaf at secc) and everyone appeared to want breakfast at the
same time, everything was under control and handled admirably by the two
ladies in the breakfast room. Well done!.
A really good hotel for the price (en-suite, single room with breakfast for £45). Small but perfectly adequate room (bed was really comfortable) with a nice, clean toilet and shower. Breakfast was excellent and served by friendly and helpful staff. Ideal if attending a concert at S.E.C.C. (only a ten minute walk away). Would definitely stay there again.
The staff were excellent, especially the young girls at breakfast.
The room althougjynright at the top in the attic, was a bit small, but clean and comfortable with all you need. An toilet with shower, a tv, and tea and coffee. Comfortable bed and storage space.
Would definitely stay here again. We were goin to the secc and it was only a 10min walk.
Very good value (the breakfast was our favourite part!). The rooms are basic, but clean (perfect for a family on a limited budget). Great location (walking distance to the center and just around the corner from Glasgow University and parks for children). The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!. Spacious room , bright and airy having the 3 big windows. Bed very clean and comfortable , magic soft pillows. Great having free wifi and ability to make coffeee & tea in room. Also coffee & tea available in foyer. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Excellent breakfast with loads of choice.
Would certainly stay here again if at SECC etc.
Excellent location for SECC and the Kelvingrove Museum. Huntarium Museum worth checking out at the University. Butchershop Bar and Grill excellent for dinner as is Kelvingrove Cafe for a drink. Breakfast at hotel really nice and breakfast staff were lovely. Room cosy and clean. If you're there to see the sights what more do you need?.
Having attended for the UDO World dance finals at SECC we didn't get much chance to see Glasgow, however, we were in a good position for a twice daily stroll to the venue and with local shops and places to eat. The main town centre was only a slightly longer walk or bus ride away. I would definitely stay there again.
The staff were relaxed, helpful and friendly and the breakfast was superb. We asked about visiting a local museum/tall ship and received informative helpful and accurate advice. The restaurant opposite ("Sisters") was very good and the "Wee Curry House" in Partick was one of the best Indian eateries we've visited.
Stayed for Neil Young concert at SECC. Excellent value for the price. Handy for pubs and eating places in Sauchiehall Street. Only 10 minutes from the SECC, when you know the way. The chap at reception was helpful and welcoming. Nice big room. Free wifi. Comfortable beds. Would definitely use this hotel again.
I liked breakfast: hot food freshly prepared and as much as you
wanted. In many more expensive hotels hot food is left sitting at buffet
and this is not hygienic. Also excellent staff, friendly yet
professional.Offered discounts on local restaurants and places of
interest; also helped woth advice on transport.
Its location, west end of Glasgow, easy reach of restaurants, bars and museum. Friendly, clean and good price. Breakfast had plenty of choice (with the option of seconds, if you were feeling greedy). Looked after our bags whilst we visited the Botanic gardens, but a secure lock-up would have been preferred.
Staff are very helpful, efficient and friendly! Rooms are comportable and the breakfast choice and quality is very good! Great location 5 minutes from City Centre and a number of great bars and restaraunts in the local area. Would highly recommend this hotel to all visitors to the wonderful City of Glasgow!.
A good, clean, comfortable bed in ensuite room. The food was excellent
with more than ample portions. Breakfast included all you could expect
in a much more expensive hotel. Coffee etc. in room. Friendly and
efficient staff. My luggage was minimal and manageable but nonetheless,
help was kindly offered.
We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel accomodated our early arrival from Australia and had our room ready as arranged. The room was basic but very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was freshly cooked and very enjoyable.
Would happily stay there again.
The Sandyford is a clean, comfortable hotel with old world charm and you can even check in at 1:30 p.m. While not luxurious, it is above average for hotels in this price range and provides an excellent full Scottish breakfast, terrific staff and great location to parks, buses, shopping etc.
We liked the warm welcome, the helpful staff, the excellent breakfast, the clean comfortable well planned room, the proximity to good bars and restaurants. The tour bus stopped 15 yards from the Hotel entrance and it was possible to walk to many locations and the city centre.
This was a return trip to the Sandyford having stayed there for the first time four months ago. My experience this time reinforced my feelings after my initial stay - this is an excellent hotel charging very reasonable rates. I would not stay anywhere else in Glasgow now.
Its location and value for money. Staff were friendly and egar to help.
Generally the hotel was a good place to visit and I would recommend
friends to stay there and would stay again myself only ask for a room at
the back of the hotel. The breakfast was tasty.
I thought it was excellent value for money .... reception staff and domestic staff were very polite and freindly. Got got a good morning from all of them. Rooms were lovely and clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and very quick to be served.
The hotel is in a very central location, and many attractions are reachable on foot. The People's Palace was a bit distant, but we rented a car so this didn't pose too much of a problem. The staff was helpful and the Scottish breakfast was very tasty!.

My wife and I liked the friendly atmosphere, everyone at reception were
most helpful and the breakfast staff were excellent. The hotel was just
what we required and we would have no hestitation in going back or
recommending it to our friends.
All very good - special mention for delicious breakfast in the morning!
Had to walk some miles to burn it off! Staff were very friendly and so
polite.Helped us get taxis etc! Facilities more than adequate. Would
definitely stay there again.
I've visited Sandyford before and it was the reason for our return visit. It's got the 3C's central, cheap and clean and staff are very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was fab ... good range of continental style food and fry up was lovely.
hi
i went up to Glasgow to see john barrowman in panto as i do every year my friends came with me ,we could not get a room for 3 any were this hotel did .i stay before, i love the hotel and the food is good, staff are good linda turton.
The staff were all brilliant but we were particularly impressed with Daniel on reception who really went out of his way. Both me and my friend would be more than happy to recommend this hotel and would be more than happy to stay again.
Room was clean and comfortable with modern furnishings. Bathroom a bit dated but clean. Breakfast was very good and varied with seconds if you wanted. Hotel is very central to a lot of the visitor attractions. Would stay here again.
The room was warm, comfortable and clean. I liked the leather finish of the furnishing. Great location, you can easily walk to the Mitchell, Kelvingrove museum, SECC, West End and City Centre. We really enjoyed the breakfast as well.
Staff very friendly helpful & welcoming. Great breakfast! Great location for SECC & city centre. Beds comfortable, rooms basic but clean. Good value for money. Stairs to rooms not suitable for people with mobility problems.
The hotel is in an ideal situation ...within walking distance of so many interesting places. Pleasant, helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable with good breakfasts. I enjoyed my four days here and would recommend this hotel.
Very friendly staff. Very helpful and concerned for my welfare as I was suffering from a chest infection.
Good breakfasts cooked to order with a large choice.
Free Wi-fi excellent.
Excellent value: I would certainly come back.
Warm comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff, good location for SECC, lovely breakfast. Unusual to be able to get a room with three single beds. Late booking. Clean and fresh decor. Welcoming foyer and just very nice.
Really friendly, helpful and informative front of house staff, couldn't have received better care and attention. Room clean and tidy beds very comfy and plenty of towels. Excellent value for money.Good breakfast too.
The hotel is in an ideal location for concerts at the Hydro. Rooms were warm, clean and comfortable. There was a large choice for breakfast. Staff were very helpful. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.
A very good, well priced option in an excellent location for Glasgow City Centre. Comfortable and clean at a price much better than other hotels in the city I have stayed at who offered less at a much higher cost.
nice clean rooms, excellent shower, superb breakfast(massive choice) and free on street parking from 6pm to 8.30am.the location is great too with numerous bars eateries and shops )(inc 24 hours) within 5 mins walk.
The hotel was very close to the university and was ideal for our visit to the open day. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Parking was good we parked outside the hotel £4 a day.
The staff were very good, location for us was excellent, (15min walk to SSEC), if we were to look for an hotel in Glasgow again we would use it but ask for a room away from the main road, all in all good value.
I was there for business and leisure. I appreciated being given a choice of rooms, attic or basement. I chose the attic. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast set me up for the day. Thank you.
The location was excellent for us since we were attending a conference at the SECC. We had just walking distance. The breakfast which was included was delicious and very filling. Very good cooking.
The lovely lady on reception was so helpful! So easy to get around from the Hotel, easy parking and very close to the SECC and the city centre. Pillows were wonderful too! Will certainly return!.
Room was comfortable and exactly what we were after for one night.
All linen was clean.
Excellent location for The Hydro and SECC and great bars just down the street.
Large breakfast selection.
Easy to get to.
Handy for shopping, clean and cosy hotel.Staff very friendly and helpful.Breakfast very good and fresh, great choice, quick service. This was our second visit will be back again.
Very clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff, good West End location. Walking distance to City Centre, next to Kelvingrove Park and museum. Good and generous breakfast with lots of options.
frendly staff and helpfull
clean and comfortable room
good choice for breakfast and good waitresss service,
location nice and central
really injoyed our stay. plenty reasturaunts close by.
Excellent value for money! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room
was clean, warm, comfortable, small ensuite with lots of hot water.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.
Comfortable room in hotel, chosen to be close to SECC - only 10 minute walk. Hotel facilites good - liked the hot drinks and snack machines. Lovely breakfast and helpful, friendly staff.
See other box.
The stairs to the room - but then I'm just pure lazy!!.
Only fault was I thought the stairway carpets and walls looked a bit on the grubby side.
Slight musty smell, but not too bad.
The hotel doesn't have elevators, but fortunately the staff are very helpful with suitcases. Bathrooms dated but clean. Radiator needed bled so a bit cool after being out in rain! We were offered the use of an electric heater though. .
What's not to like?.
It is more expensive to book with them direct.
On one day only one bath towel was left and the key had been left in our door by the cleaner although we were assured that there was CCTV and certainly nothing was amiss. Also one of the towels was very worn - with bits of cotton hanging off it although it was perfectly clean.
Curtains didn't keep much light out on a light summer evening/dawn.
No lift for luggage.
No bar, but then local pubs etc were great.
No bar in the hotel itself.
I am disabled and hadn't realised that there would not be a lift but
stair treads were not steep. I didn't use Lounge which was at street
level, but as room was spacious with T.V. etc this was not an issue.
nothing.
Having to leave at the end of our break.
The stairs.
No lift ... but we did know about this it's not a complaint just a bit of a pain lugging bags up and down stairs
Room was very warm and no air conditioning or fan available.
The room looked a bit 'old'.
No lift ... but we did know about this it's not a complaint just a bit of a pain lugging bags up and down stairs
Room was very warm and no air conditioning or fan available.
The bath/shower was not just as we would have liked. The hose was
replaced but the problem of water running onto the floor would have
continued had we not used a towel placed between the taps and the edge
of the bath.
I wish the hotel was near the SECC
and had bar in the hotel.
Nothing.
Breakfast times was too early. Ended at 8.30 which is too early if you are on holiday.
I would prefer it if the breakfast was a little later, especially during the weekend. Also, the sink in the bathroom was a little small. But these are tiny things really, not actual problems.
Nothing to dislike.
No blackout curtains. Curtains also didn't offer much privacy as we were facing the pavement and people could see into the room.
No bar, stairs were a bit difficult for elderly relatives but they managed. Street lights in bedroom kept us awake a bit.
No complaints.
nothing to dislike.
The room itself was great although the ensuite was a bit dated and tired, that was our only comment.
I didn't know there was no lift in the hotel otherwise I would have said which floor I wanted.
However, this was no problem at all.
Not so keen on the breakfast, although for the price I won't be too picky. Just think if you are going to have sausages they ought to taste like sausages, other than that we had no complaints whatsoever.
The shower was great but the cubicle was tiny with a small curtain resulting in the floor getting very wet.
cannot find anything.
nothing we did not like.
The furnishings and decor were a bit out of date, but this is no way a
complaint considering what we paid! We would stay here again!!.
nothing, apart from toilet did not flush very well.
