staff were very attentive and friendly and the location, while 20
minutes from Kandy, was spectacular. There were plenty of tuk-tuks
available at the entrance to the hotel.

We had a wonderful experience at Amya Hills, Kandy. It was our 20th anniversary in Nov 2013. To our pleasant surprise, they decorated the bed with flowers with Happy Anniversary written on bed. The location was perfect and the staff was SO accommodating. We asked to move one of the tables out for breakfast by the pool and they instantly did it. I definitely recommend staying here since its outside the city enough that you really can take in the countryside air and sounds -

We really enjoyed our short stay in the hotel. They were very facilitating and hospitable towards us and assisted us in all ways possible. The staff were the selling point for us. This is a great hotel if you're on vacation. Everyone is so friendly and go way out of their way to make sure you get the best out of your stay in Kandy. The greatest thing ever was that I told them I'd like to take some cooking lessons in Kandy (but there's none), so their chef made some time in his busy schedule to teach me how to make curry. That was unbelievable. I can't imagine any other hotel being that intimate and friendly. -

We spent two nights at the hotel. The staff were helpful and the service was very good. Basic but clean rooms. The wi-fi was working well in the room. The food is also quite good. Breakfast is standard issue fare in Sri Lankan B&Bs (toast/eggs/fresh juice/tea/fruits) but on the second night we had an enjoyable Sri Lankan curry dinner. -

This was a great 'experience' hotel - we stayed because of the heritage associated with it. An old colonial hotel which is a little crumbly around the edges but not too much and has lots of period features like an old fashioned cage lift etc. Nice garden area, and bar and a veyr swanky reception area with wifi. Excellent location, just outside Temple of tooth and facing lake which makes your stay in that location best, hotel is located in centre of the Kandy from where everything is reachable within minutes. Hotel facility and food was nice, staff is humble and friendly.Hotel gives feeling of heritage place and interior is so much from British Era which makes this hotel look like a palace, wooden flooring and antique interior is nice.

We got in before check in time but it was no bother for the front staff. They very quickly had our room ready giving us to use the free wifi in the lobby, we were treated to an ice cold drink. Jehan went out of his way and this was reflected in the other staff members including the dining room staff. We wanted a room overlooking the pool and got it despite being busy with the esala festivities. The room was large, clean and the toilet was great.
