Hostal Baler is considered one of the budget friendly hostals. Although the room was small, but for me as solo person was good. This is a family-owned place that is very well maintained and has a congenial staff and atmosphere. For protracted stays the rooms are better suited for single occupancy where space allows a comfortable chair. But for short stays the twin (there are no doubles) occupancy is perfectly adequate. This is a modest accommodation in a very good location near the main
train station in Barcelona. If you are a walker like me, you can get to
all the sights by foot. Alternatively, you can get everywhere by Metro
which is a few steps away from the hotel. The room was small but
adequate, it was clean. It wan't pristine, but it was acceptable. My
room had a balcony which was an amazing bonus. The WiFi was strong. The
towels were changed daily. The hotel has elevator and a 24hr desk.

You get what you pay for and this was very inexpensive. All I needed was a bed and an en suite with shower as I was attending a conference and eating out at night. I got exactly what I paid for. I could have stayed at the renaissance which was 9 times the price but why bother as I never use the facilities

The hotel it is in walking distance off all the turistic attractions of Barcelona.
I consider this aspect as the best feature of this hotel.
The room was very clean, we had private bathroom and a balcony.
On all the streets surrounding the hotel there are restaurants, bars and shops.
The metro stop is at only 2 min walking distance.
After chek-out they permitted us to use their luggage storage room for the entire day.
Wi-Fi connection in the room was great.

I was staying for 3 noghts, and asked to not be woken up in the morning by the cleaner. I had my privacy, and got new towels every day while I was out. The staff at the reception was really friendly and polite! Very pationet when I asked for directiones:) I also like where the hotel is situated. Thanks for a good stay. I will be back!:) -

Exelent hotel for budget stay in Barcelona. Great stuff, especially a middle aged man on the reception, he gave us a city map, a metro map, explained how to get to the most popular turistic places and recommended some good restaurants. Breakfasts were very good, included a variety of products. Hotel description is 100% correct.
