The rooms are soundproof. This was my second stay in this hotel, now with windows to a back yard, and it was really quiet. The breakfast is good, Wi-Fi works, the location is OK, free tea is available all the time.
Information from one administrator to another did not pass well, so they kept asking the same question about the time I'm going to leave again and again. There were also some long hair on floor in the toilet.
Spent there 2 days, everything was perfect! Staff is absolutely great, breakfast - tasty with a big choice, room was clean with a new furniture. I sincerely recommend it to my friends and with a great plesure stay there again.

Fare price for this central location. I wasn't satisfied with our double bed (only 140sm) and after some tense conversation with a manager & staff they provided us one more bed. It was nice from them. The hotel is located in old-fashioned Soviet building with stairs. Quite unusual experience but nice. The staff is very nice and helpful.
Better ask twin beds, otherwise be ready for a small double bed, 140sm. Unless you like it. Shower is not the best. Takes time to get use to.
I loved absolutely everything! My room (classic double) was clean, spacious, with lots of day light and very comfortable for resting and working. The room service is also excellent. The breakfast was delicious with rich variety of choices. The staff is very nice, caring and helpful. The location is very central, it is easy to find, there are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, mall, shops around. I will dfinitely recommend it to my friends and will gladly stay in this hotel again.
I really had to think before I could come up with anything. Possibly the only thing is that there is no elevator, but they do have the staff to help you with luggage, so it is not a problem at all.

The hot water can take quite long time to wait (1-2min). The trash bin was not emptied when the first day I arrive. Soundproof can be improved.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a family room which was spacious and clean. Tea and coffee available all day in the breakfast room. Water cooler also in there. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to metro station, supermarket, cafes and restaurants.
No black out curtains and the shower was very small and difficult to master. The breakfast room is quite small. A bit hard to move around when it is full. There is not a lot of variety for breakfast.
After escaping from the Capital "Hotel", The Roses was a haven of peace and comfort. Highly recommended.
It's a bit far from the sights but there is a metro nearby and buses as well. Or otherwise a half an hour walk.

Location, location, location! Can't be more central. Rooms are spacious and clean, their breakfast is good. The staff are nice and helpful, too.
They should come to terms with the fact they are not a 4 star hotel but rather a 2-3 B&B and put their prices down. The furnishings are cheap, non-smoking rooms are reeking of smoke (the corridor on the 4th floor is even worse).
We stayed at Roses Hotel for 5 nights in June. The staff were very helpful, the location central and convenient, and the room adequate. Breakfast each morning included plenty of choices. Overall a really pleasant stay in St Petersburg- recommended.
If your room is on the 5th floor, as ours was, be prepared for 10 flights of stairs!! Not for the physically impaired.
we stayed at a room that is at street side. it was very comfortable, we had everything what we need. Location of hotel is central and convenient. Reception is at the third floor, don't surprise. The staff were very helpfull and the most important thing is all staff know english very well. This is very important in Petersburg, Because they do not know english and they do not need to learn :( kind, good staff. free coffee and tea at fifth floor. free water each floor. free wi fi. neal to ploschad vostaniya metro station. it is 2 minutes by walking. you can go all museums and all the places that are must see by metro. all must see places are only 4 metro station far away from hotel. And don't surprise,there is not a lift at the hotel because it is a historical building.
if you had a taxi from airport to hotel, you should have RUBLE with you. Because hotel doesn't change USD or EURO with RUBLE .

The things i like about Roses Hotel are that it has brilliant location and friendly staff. What is more it has great family breakfast and free tea and coffee all day long.

Unfortunately we were woken up 4 out of the 8 nights by loud music playing late at night and in early hours of morning. Because the hotel shares the building with a number of residential apartments it was unclear where it was coming from.

Not much not to like about the Roses. The only potential drawback is the absence of an elevator, and since it's only a few floors, that's only an issue for older people like myself, or folks who are otherwise disabled.

the lokation is pretty comfort and the hotel - everything is knew so you feel spetial and kind family environment as well!

People at the reception were very kind.
Price too high for an hotel which is certainly not a 4star hotel. No elevator, very old and poorly mantained building. Bathroom too old and too small, breakfast room too small, breakfast not up to a 4star, wifi slow and up and down, no satellite tv. Cleaning just acceptable.
Terrible, Horrible,Worst of its kind and they claim 4 star (no lift )according to me not even 2 star may be 1. We stayed there from 2/6/13 to 4/6/13.To start on the positive side it is near city centre other than that it is horrible. On the negative note 1, very difficult to locate as the name board is so small it is hardly visible.it took us 30 mins in that road to find it out. 2, No lift in a 4 star (rated 4 star as per letsbookhotel.com) 3,Pegion smell all along the staircase. 4,Shops in ground floor , the small lobby is on 3rd floor with private residence in 1st floor and they call this 4 star hotel. 4,after all this , the shock Continues when you enter the room. We have booked 2 family rooms ( 4 beds) and 1 was in floor 2 and the other was in floor 5 .the air conditioners were not working in 1 room in floor 2 and no air conditioners in1 room in floor 5. When we complained the response was horrible.the receptionist who was good understood the issue and took it to an another staff in the little office room.this women was arrogant and asked us to open the windows if it is warm.the rooms were so sultry in June with no coolers or fans and the staff said we r the first family to complain. What a tragedy to expect atleast a fan in a supposed to be 4 star hotel who charged around 18000 rubles for 2 rooms and not provide even a fan in summer. 5, the next shock was no hot water in the morning and the showers were working crazy , the closets were not flushing and to say the line continues. The worst Hotel I have ever stayed and it will spoil the reputation of booking . Com if they display this hotel as 4 star. Vasanth
