  It was a very pleasant stay at friends hostel. The one down side was that we had to move rooms after the first night due to noise on the bottom floor. Room was close to the social room and window nearest the hostel entrance. We stayed for 4 nights. The staff were very helpful and moved us to another room on an upper floor. Standing at the gates you can see both your hotel and the Kazansky cathedral - one of the most beatiful in the city. You don't need to use transport at all, unless going to suburbs. Just 2 steps from Nevsky prosp. and 2 metro stations (Nevsky Prospect+Gostiny Dvor, lines ). Friendly English speaking staff, big communal area, decorated very nicely, quiet music gently playing in the hallways, vending machines, VERY good location, a neat little shelf next to your bed so you don't end up lying on your charging phone while you sleep (you know what I'm talking about!!!) and cleaners constantly keepin... ce que les gens disent » g the place Spick and span!! There`s no disorder even when the group arrives. Staff is very helpful, but some of them too serious 4 ! guest computers! (Usually maximum 2) lots of space in rooms and public places
