I had a very good experience with this hotel! Nice, very well equipped, comfortable design rooms quite big for Amsterdam), a very friendly staff and a quite good location, 10 minutes walking distance from Lediseplein, 5 minutes from Muzeum Island, direct connection from the train station). I was very lucky with the price (I booked a last minute deal) because otherwise the hotel seems to be a bit expensive. But not more than the other Amsterdam hotels. Minibar and coffee facilities are in price.

The hotel itself is nicely decorated and the breakfast is a true masterpiece, especially if you decide to order something from the kitchen. The high quality of the coffee is worth a mention (you can use their machine or request any manner of hand made coffee drink). Location is perfect: a short walk to the Museumplein, a longer walk to the city center (whi. The staff there had the best service I've ever had in any city, especially Ervin, he was more than helpful. Me and my girlfriend loved the breakfast in the mornings and the free mini bar was great. The internet was super fast and the jacuzzi tub was a welcoming surprise. At first I thought the room was a bit small but after 5 minutes I got used to it and it was extremely cozy and nice. Though it isn't in the center of the city, everything was accessible with tram stations right outside the hote. This is a small hotel at a quiet street not far from the city-center of Amsterdam. Rooms are small but comfortable and style with good canal view through fanny windows. There were: free mini-bar with cold drinks, coffee machine, dock station for iPod in our room. The breakfast wasn't perfect but still quiet good. Also in good weather you can eat your breakfast on the hotel terrace right on the canal. The Amsterdam Canal Hotel is an oasis of tranquility and luxury in the midst of a vibrant and busy city. The facilities are outstanding and the rooms, though some are small, are exceptionally well furnished and comfortable. It is located near the museum district and we could walk to the major museums as well as nice local restaurants. The staff was amazing, being professional as well as competent and very helpful and friendly. Our long weekend stay was exceptional from the freshly baked croi. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and eager to help and the room offers the best in terms of amenities and facilities. Although we booked a street view room, upon arrival they upgraded it to a canal view room for free which was a pleasant surprise and we truly appreciate it. They even carried our very heavy luggage up two sets of stairs for us. The rooms are very stylish and clean. Our room had the Canal view with a large balcony and it was worth every penny. The rooms are large (much larger than the average rooms in Amsterdam). The 'no breakfast' didn't bother us at all as there are plenty of cafes and restaurants just down the road. To be fair, the hotel is not in the city center, but it is a short walk to anything and everything you want to do in Amsterdam. The huge upside to the location is that the neighborhood is nice and quiet at night... far from the mayhem of the Red Light District. We loved everything from the excellent breakfast with any type of eggs to order and homemade miniature cakes all beautifully presented, to the lovely extremely comfortable bed, ultra modern bathroom and such helpful friendly staff. The de pijp area nearby had loads of brill restaurants and its so close to museums and transport if you to go further afield. The room was beautiful with a huge bathroom especially the bath tub. I am 6 foot 3 and I fitted very comfortably in it. The buffet breakfast was amazing. I like its location, their staff were so polite, rooms were new and clean, we had very good time at our stay, their breakfast were also deligicious. Standard of the facilities in the room especially the Nespresso machine, safe and free contents in the fridge (cold soft drinks and some snacks). Nothing to dislike in this hotel, I was only missing some bed cover (a cover over the bed linen) and I also missed some rack in the bathroom where I could display my cosmetics. One thing to be aware of is that there is no air conditioning, so the summer months could be a challenge. We arrived on a very warm day in September and the temperature in our room on the top floor was 28.5 C at 10:30 p.m.. The person working the front desk did find a fan for us which provided some relief, and the remaining days were somewhat cooler, negating this problem. I can only imagine what late July and August would be like. The stairs were a bit harsh at times though it wasn't too big of an issue. There was nothing to dislike. Lack of elevator (the stairs are extremely steep) but we understand this is typical in the area. Nothing!. The only downside was that the room was very warm and the air conditioning machine provided was extremely loud without being particularly effective. Our room also overlooked the street which was quite busy and you could hear traffic, especially the trams, throughout the night. This didn't particularly bother us as we live on a main road anyway, but could be a problem for people who like a quiet night. See above! Comments included. The room was very small, essentially a bed in an alcove and a desk and a single chair, but we knew that going in and it was fairly priced given the size and location. It would have been nice to have two chairs, even given the limited space. - only issue was that there was no elevator and the stairs were very steep/windy this however was to be expected being a canal house. They did say they are planning on installing one though. Tip-Dutch houses are narrow with steep stairs-no problem for us-we were on a low floor-but if it matters to you discuss this with the hotel first. No elevator, and very narrow steps. Owners willing to bring up luggage though. Still need front step railing and sign frontage. No option for a la carte breakfast, so buffet breakfast was expensive if you only wanted a bite and coffee, however local pancake house within a block. Their maid service was not too good. Though their amenities were high end, they did not replenish during our 3 night stay. Their towels were also very cheap and thin. Nothing. The stairs were a little challenging and would when returning ask for a lower floor. It is not in the centre of Amsterdam, but there are lots of trams right outside. it wasn t a problem for us but the stairs could be a problem for people older.. Walls were a bit thin; therefore, you could at times here people in other rooms (not a huge issue, but a concern). The hotel was having a heating issue while we were there (we had a lot of heat, other rooms didn't have much). The room I rented was in the basement, and was a bit noisy due to the proximity of the street. Also, it was hot in the room and there was no air conditioning in this room. However, the staff's niceness and fantastic breakfast more than compensated for these issues. paper & pen in the room. No lift could be an issue for elderly. bathroom was very nice but water pressure in the shower (3rd floor) was very poor, bar not open yet. the room is a bit small. it can be slightly bigger. Location - it's in the center of Amsterdam, but a bit far from the main attractions. Rembrandt square about 20 minutes by walk. Dam about 25. but it didn't actually spoil the impression. Stairs!!!!! We called it Kilimanjaro, the room was at 4 floor. But it's ok, good training. Did not like the cold design of the entrance front desk, and the very steep winding staircase without a lift could be very difficult for older guests. The oddest thing to pay the room total before checking in( first ever in all my travels to Europe and elsewhere),. The only things we would say were the slightest negative points were the hotel noise that could be heard in the room, as well as the layout of the room. The glass separating the bathroom from the rest of the room require a certain amount of intimacy between those sharing a room!. Nothing at all!. Nothing. No on-site parking (but then this is normal in a city like Amsterdam). Nothing :). The climb up the stairs to the top floor after a long day of walking around. Sometimes .. the aircon thermostat is not functioning well. It turned hot during our stay that we need to open the windows. The breakfast room was not ready yet (the hotel is really new!!), but the kindness of the staff in suggesting very nice places where to have breakfast and besides free tea and coffee in the room, has compensated for this little inconvenient very very well. Roadside rooms are noisy. I was travelling with my elderly mother and I didn't realise the hotel has no lift. Also, it was a bit of a heatwave when we stayed, I think this was unusual, and the air conditioning wasn't effective. Something to be aware of depending on your travelling companion. The Location - I would have preferred the hotel to be in central Amsterdam, but it all depends on travelers preferences. Room needed a place to put our luggage and maybe a nightstand. the bar in the evening not being open. Lack of air conditioning in very hot weather. Hotel was immaculatey clean but the area was scruffy and Amsterdam was a huge disappointment compared to previous visit years ago- but this wasn`t Hotel`s fault obviously. We had a problem with our A/C. Air conditioning was under-powered.
