Great kitchen facilities, comfortable common area, and the bathrooms weren't bad either. There were fridges on each level. Very efficiently, professionally run hostel.

My wife and I loved staying in a small and more traditional Japanese
house, with the use of futon bed. The hostel was very clean and tidy.
The meals organised by the hostel were delicious and well presented,
with free tea and coffee and nice heated sitting area. The staff were
very helpful and inviting. -

Almost a boutique/design hotel, without the common price tag. Very
friendly owners who speak more than adequate English. A lot of
extra's, some for free, some for an unbelievable low price, and
offered in funny but very adequate ways :-) Best futons I have ever
engaged. Good internet connections, also computers available for free in
a magnificent tv room.

Good value for money with a few free things thrown in like washing, bicycle etc. You have to look for it on the notice board. I wasn't told and by the time I found out, it was too late for me to utilise. -

Love the onsen! Perfect after a cold day up snowy Mt Aso! And it can be reserved so no worries about showing your naked butt to strangers. The staff are ok with a bit of English, but they're real friendly. Kudos to them for recommending the nice kaiseki restaurant just down the road.
Breakfast is delicious. Room was spacious.

The indoor onsen was lovely! A little small but very nice and relaxing, gender-separated, and very hot! I could've spent hours and hours in there. The staff spoke English well enough, and were kind enough to let me leave my heavy backpack at the hostel even after I checked out so I could make a day trip to Yufuin. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we arrived, they were outside doing a nagashi somen/BBQ event. Met some very nice people there. You also get a free drink ticket for a bar nearby. We paid for a shared twin room, but we had our own bathroom. There's also an onsen downstairs. The hostel is very close to the station and there's parking, too! I highly recommend this place.

The staff at the hostel are very helpful and provided me with useful information for our ongoing trip around Kyushu. They will also do a load of laundry for you for 200 yen but you will either have to hang the clothes of the roof or spin dry at the laundromat close by. Really friendly and relaxed staff made us feel at home. They also go to a lot of trouble help give their guests the low down on interesting local information to get the best out of Nagasaki. We loved the 'how to make a paper crane' chart in the lounge area.

The location is great, it's just a five minute walk to the station and you have restaurants and bars all around you. Kokage has its own little onsen that you can use free of charge and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The Kokage was very clean and comfortable. The owner is very sweet. It
is a low key place. There was tea service waiting in room. It is not
fancy at all. It was fun to wake up to the magpies and temple chimes at
7am. Great sashimi with excruciatingly cordial waiters just down the
street. The public onsen by the spa beach is very nice and very local.
