Very neat, clean, professional and up-market hotel compared to our usual 'backpacker' lodgings. Most expensive accommodation we stayed in, but could not find any better - due to our late booking and its very central location a short walk from the station and a very short walk to the castle.

The hotel is very well located, a few steps away from Matsumoto castle, the tourism office and many restaurants.
Very clean and comfortable, the hotel has an onsen on site and offers free bicycle rental.
The staff is polite, helpful, and at ease in English.
Probably the best cost / value hotel that I have seen in Japan.

Great location being walking distance from the train station and the castle with plenty of restaurants and night life nearby. We could see the castle from our room and the inclusion of a buffet style breakfast made this hotel excellent value. -

I got lost when trying to find the place but a wonderful old lady went
out of her way to show the way. I love that ahjumma! I like the
traditional feel of the place. A really cosy home and the warm

The staff were awesome, not only did they have a copious amount of knowledge about Matsumoto and Nagano in general, but they treated the guest not as a customer but as a close friend or family member. If there were potential problems to be faced outside of the hostel they were very happy to offer their Japanese skills as assistance. On top of this they created a really social atmosphere, for instance during my stay we had a pizza and film night.

Excellent location right next to the train station (as the name suggests). Good base for exploring charming Matsumoto. Staff are very friendly and generally have a good level of spoken English. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The location of this hotel near the train station, made it very convenient to get to from the Shinkansen. The hotel staff were very friendly and they helped us find four of the towns free bikes so that we were able to see Matsumoto castle before it closed. The lounge next to the bar was also really nice to hang out at and have a few drinks.
