Check-in and restaurant staff were so friendly and welcoming. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Availed of breakfast in bed and late check out with minimal extra cost. Really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely return.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The decor was a mixture of regency with its natural harmony and symmetry combined with the modern effects garnered through the effects of airiness , space and light. The bed was sheer comfort and luxury. I loved the alcove dinning room. The owner Caroline is easy going and friendly and gave us great information about where to eat in the local area. There was a fourposter bed in a room with a view of the main square, yet it felt like home. We were so welcomed at Emmet House, pampered with treats and very comfortable. We so enjoyed sitting by the window watching the world go by.

A 19th century house with lots of character but still comfortable, clean, and decorated beautifully. Breakfast was brilliant - especially the sausages and black pudding. Owners very friendly and helpful. Guest house is near the centre of town and a walk to Birr Castle. -

Everything! but in first place the staff who made our stay so personal. The welcome we got on arrival was so friendly & we were reassured that any help or service we needed would be no trouble........even down to leaning me a scissor & sellotape to wrap a wedding present ! -

Anne, our host, gave us a warm and friendly greeting and was able to direct us to a nearby eatery where the publican was equally friendly. We wanted to avoid getting into cities while we were having a driving tour of Ireland and this place was perfect. This is a lovely old coaching inn in the centre of a small Georgian-style market town. Staff are very helpful and friendly, and food excellent, especially the full Irish breakfast served. Apart from juices and cereals, no self-service here. Excellent!

Upon arriving the staff was so exceptionally friendly and helpful. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this was by far the best reception I've experienced. The bar staff was another experience altogether!!!! We waited for likely more than half an hour for our meal...but when it arrived..it was the best pasta I've eaten...compliments to the chef!!!! The facilities were great of course because of it being a castle!! But we didn't experience any spirits or ghosts..
