It was a 4 girl girls trip. We loved the owner! He was so helpful and kind to us!! The 4 of us will definitely recommended these apartments to our friends and fellow travelers. Accommodations were perfect, kitchen, living room, spacious bedrooms, fits so many people!

That I had to go home! ;)

The hostel is well renovated and has a kitchen with everything. The room is clean. Although it is not near to the city center, there is a supermarket openning until 12 pm. nearly. And almost all day tours can pick you up in front of the hostal, so don´t worry.The owners are very very friendly, and thank you very much for the white wine on Black Friday.

We booked the smallest and cheapest available room (the double studio). When we arrived, finding our keys and room was very easy. The room was small but very clean - the bedding smelt very fresh. We also saw a family studio which was bigger and again very clean and pleasant. I asked to upgrade our room as I wanted a bit more space (the prices are very reasonable and I was happy to pay more). However when the owner and Thora heard it was the last leg of our honeymoon, they upgraded us to a 3 bedroom apartment for a very nominal increase. The owner even gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate! The apartment was amazing - lovely city view, again very fresh and clean and lots of things included that I wouldn't expect in a lot of self-catering facilities (e.g. ground coffee for the cafetiere, toilet roll, some toiletries, porridge, cooking oil, dishwasher tablets etc). The bathroom was clean and spacey and the flat was so cosy and warm. The apartments are a 30 second walk away from the main shopping street in Rejkavik so it's very central; however it's on a quieter road so there's very little noise. I slept soundly all 3 nights. I would definitely book at these apartments again! Thora and/or the owner are always about to help and are really friendly (like everyone I met in Iceland!) I would advise anyone staying more than one night and planning on spending an evening in the apartment to select one of the larger rooms, just to give yourselves a bit more room to move about. We had a balcony too which had a great view (sadly the weather was too wet for us to use it!)

We had enjoyable & relaxing stay at Downtown Reykjavik Apartments. Very friendly staff & owner Mr Árnason. Great value for money. As for the ratio of price and quality accommodation I think there is no better in Reykjavik. Very clean and comfortable, although we had small Economy Family Studio apartment on the lower floor (4 persons). They have free WiFi and secure parking behind the building which is very important if you take a car rental. 10 minutes walk from the main street in Reykjavik. I would recommend to anyone!

Great location and walking distance to Laugavegur. The room had everything we needed. Although we never used the kitchen during our stay, it was well-equipped. Free parking is a big bonus. Great value and exactly what we needed for our stay.

We reservated two Appartements. At the day of our Arrival the owner contacted us and offered a penthouse for the Same Price. We took the Penthouse. Luxus, clean, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great Night

In the 3-bedroom unit, the 2nd bathroom only had a urinal and no shelves or place to put things. That space would have been much more useful if it was a normal bathroom.

We were a family group: Grandpa, Grandma, Daughter, grandsons ages 11, 12. We needed affordable lodging near shopping and public transportation. Downtown Reykjavik Apartments (dra) met and exceeded our requirements. The dra is just 2 blocks from one of the main bus stations in Reykjavik. From that point, one can travel anywhere in the City. About 3 blocks from dra is a 24 hr. Small grocery shop with food essentials. The main shopping/walking street begins at the bus station and extends a number of blocks down to the main tourist center (at the far end of the shopping street....perhaps 8 blocks away, but within easy walking (even for Grandma walking with cane because of an ailing foot!). Dra offers a variety of lodging options from very basic to nice 2 bedroom suites. We rented a one bedroom family unit with an extra roll-away bed in the bedroom. Our grandsons slept on the sofa bed in the living room. The living room was very small and the sofa bed filled all available space opened up at night. There is a very small efficiency kitchenette with stove, refrigerator, and microwave to meet basic needs. There were dishes and silverware for 5 persons, limited cooking pans, a coffee pot and a hot water pot in the kitchenette. Very adequate for our needs! We were delighted with the reasonable rate for our lodging. Our apartment was clean, had no lingering odors from previous guests, was in a quiet location away from noisy bars and activity. The owner of dra was such a pleasant man who was eager to ensure that our stay there was a good one. He offered helpful suggestions about transportation, groceries, what we might like to do and see around that region. If we ever have an opportunity to return to Iceland, we will go right back to dra for our lodging. In fact, we are beginning to think about taking a tour group back to Iceland and will use dra as our home base and lodging. Thank you, Gudjon Arnason!

No telephone access because the telephone in the lobby was not working. We didn't have mobile phones that worked in Iceland so we had to ask the receptionist to put in calls for us. We would like to have had access to phone service.

The location, very central to everything in Reykjavik. The apartment was very comfortable & quiet.

It's advertised as a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment but there's no toilet in the second, much smaller 2nd bathroom & no where to hang towels.

Convenient location, EXTREMELY helpful and attentive staff.

The shower smelled strongly of mildew (distinct from the sulfur shower, which was expected), and linens/towels had stains that made it difficult to tell whether or not they had been laundered. There were used coffee grounds in the coffee maker, which is by no means the end of the world, but indicates that not all spaces had been "checked-out" by the cleaning staff.

First of all, the lady at the front desk was superb - amazingly friendly and helpful all around; she was able to call and coordinate our pick-up from the apartments to the airport on our departure date. Secondly, the location of the building could not be better; you are only a 5 minute walk to the main street with lots of shopping and places to eat and the waterfront is only about 10 min away total as well. There are nearby food markets, many of which are either open till midnight or even 24 hours. The room we stayed in was equipped with a microwave, stove top, fridge, pots/pans, and all the necessities. The main tourist companies, or at least the ones we utilized (Reykjavik Excursions and Iceland Excursions), were able to pick up and drop off at the location. For the price and location this place couldn't be beat.

Easy to walk to the main street, with restaurants and shops, harbor etc. Comfortable for 6 people

We didn't know the 2nd bathroom, only had a urinal and not a traditional toilet. And the shower sprayed water everywhere in the 2nd bthroom. And lastly if you showered in that bthroom, there was no place to put your things (toiletry bag, change of clothes etc)

The apartments are in a good location, near the centre. The buildings, the rooms and the furniture are quite new. The staff is polite and helpful.

We had an apartment at the ground floor with large windows in front of a parking place. Quite a lot of people went around during the day. It was far better to choose an apartments at first or second floor.

Great value for the money, wonderful location just off one end of Reykjavik's main shopping street. Very well maintained two, three and four bedroom apartments are perfect for families with older children or small groups of adult travelers. Free wifi and washer-dryer included. Also, the kitchen facilities can save a lot of money on food in Reykjavik. Owner-manager is gracious and responsive. Tour busses will pick up there, just like at a hotel.

A few minor annoyances like water seeping out of one of the showers in an apartment that we rented (we rented two), and once in a while some noise from the street coming up into the bedrooms that face it. Neither thing was a big deal. (Get a room on a higher floor if you're worried about it.) We all had cell phones, so it made no difference to us that the rooms had no land-line phones, but it might bother somebody without access to a cell.

We enjoyed our stay at Downtown Reykjavik Apartments, and were delighted to find a spacious apartment that was clean and well equipped. The staff (particularly Thora), was helpful and friendly; accommodating our requests and questions. The price was quite reasonable for the Reyjkavik market, and the building is well situated for access to the central city; with the bus station several minutes away and a market 'round the corner. FlyBus delivers directly to the door, so trips to and from the airport are trouble free. I highly recommend this property.

The staff, specifically Thora, was kind, helpful, and friendly. The apartments (we stayed in 200 and 330) were spacious, clean, and comfortable; and for Reykjavik, very reasonably priced. The apartment complex is conveniently located for access to the central city, and the FlyBus delivered us and retrieved us from the front door. I highly recommend Downtown Reyjkavik Apartments as your base of operations for a journey to Iceland.

The apartment was clean and comfortable. The small kitchenette was useful for making breakfast, and best of all it had a coffee maker! It was advertised as having two single beds, but I found out (luckily before we arrived) that this wasn't the case, but the Manager sorted this out before we arrived. All in all very comfortable and I would stay again.

There was nowhere to put clothes so had to live out of suitcase. Also, just one hook in the bathroom which was not ideal, as only had one towel each for the whole time we were there. Minor things, but easily solved by putting up a shelf or two, and some hooks.

We loved that it was so easy to get to from the airport, and that it was so close to the downtown shopping, eating, sightseeing and cultural areas of the city. The convenience of having the house keeping was really great.

Our room was advertised as accommodations for 2 to 4 adult persons. It really was too small for more than 2 adults.
