W stayed just one night in this gloriously comfortable hotel which was close to the airport for our onward flight. We ate vegetarian food in one of the private rooms in the Royal China restaurant and it was extraordinary and incredibly good value at £18 for several courses for both of us. The breakfast, likewise was the best we have eaten anywhere

Luxurious Rooms, Awesome Restaurant, Staff was extremely attentive. We had a wonderfull stay. We were awakened at midnight, opened our drapes and were treated to a wonderful display of fireworks right in front of our floor to ceiling windows. Chinese New Year Celebration. We just missed the shuttle bus and chose to take a taxi. I had no Chinese money. I went into the hotel and they paid the cab driver and then billed my credit card. This was good. Staff are friendly and efficient in here. Room is big and comfortable. It is located in front if the metro station so it is very easy to access. The local famous shopping street is right in front of the hotel and is worth to visit for a day. The area is safe to walk at night and is quite. The rooms were big, clean and functional. The breakfast on the 49th floor gave us a great view of Shanghai. The hotel was beside a mall and subway station that makes it convenient to shop and get around the city. After the mall and subway is a lovely, artistic and trendy development marked with small shops and restaurants where you can spend an entire morning or afternoon shopping and dining. A very comfortable room in all ways, bed, bathroom etc. the pool was gorgeous, not crowded and great temperature. Also liked the spa before swimming. Loved the welcome plate of fresh fruit, chocolates and bottle of red wine. -
Staff kindness.

This is a great hotel to overnight between flights to and from Shanghai Pudong airport. I arranged - at short notice - for a (free) hotel pickup at the airport, and this worked perfectly; I also took the hotel bus - again gratis - back to the airport (c. 15 minutes) the next morning. Short taxi ride from pvg airport,shopping mall at the back of the hotel
and easy walk to busy shopping areas.Great room service, excellent
bathroom. No problems finding English speaking staff and all were
courteous and friendly.Room was much better than I expected for the
money paid. Free shuttle bus to airport as well! Hint: when travelling
by taxi have the phone number of your hotel for the driver, they dont
speak english but will ring the hotel for directions.

Only thing I hope this hotel fixes is its individual room thermostat systen for heating and cooling. It simply does not work in the room. The hotel sets global heating and cooling and that is the temperature you have in your room. I complained fou7r times in ten days. My room was like a furnace and I had the thrmostat set at 18. One night it was s
