HI Vancouver Central - Photos
Ce que les gens disent
Hi Vancouver was in a perfect location for shopping and bars and there was plenty of nights organised by the hostel for example comedy nights, a night at the hockey. I was booked into a 2 bed female dorm which I ended up having to myself for 3 nights. The breakfast was great and there was plenty of it. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful whenever I had a question. Overall it was a fantastic stay. tous commentaires »
It was just what I needed for a quick solo trip to Vancouver. Simple, clean room, comfy bed, tv and a basic bathroom. Good value for money considering what I would have had to pay at a hotel. Also the central location made it easy for me to get around and walk to most of what I wanted to see.
I really liked staying at HI Vancouver central. The staff answered any questions I had, I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning, the free internet, and even though we were right on granville street I felt like we could always come back and have some secluded peace and quiet.
The rooms with ensuite are fairly small, but extremely good value for money, especially with free wi-fi and breakfast (we paid C$88).
Make sure you ask for a room at back of hotel as I suspect could be noisy at the front as location is right in very busy night-life street.
The bods on the desk were VERY friendly and so helpful. (James,Reuben,Chris, don't know others) Usually smiling and chirpy.
Breakfast was fine for what we pay.
I LOVED the organized trips.Perfect for solo traveller.:)
Situation very handy to amenities.
Lockers in rooms.
i want to express my gratitudes to all the volunteers who work for the tour. You gave me a great trip and made me understand Vancouver Better. Special thanks to Erick! I will join your tour next time when I go back to Vancouver.
The staff was very helpful and they let me store my bike in a secure room for free. The bed comforter was the best I had in any hostel, a pleasant surprise!.
Our room was comfy and adequate. Breakfast was free and good selection. They minded our luggage for a long time till evening the day we had checked out.
I liked the beds and the continental breakfast. Also the shower rooms
were very pleasant and the location meant that everything was very
accessible.
I really like the location it's in the heart of Vancouver.
Staff, excelent they know all about inquiries ad they have panflets and brouchures.
I expected "australia" style hostel but this was much better. Clean, awsome breakfast included in the price. Very very very good hostel.
Friendly staff, very good position, easy to get any attraction in Vancouver.
Good position for club and night life lovers.
The position is good to visir the Downtown, the room is clean and che staff is kind. it's good for young travellers.
Great location.central and close to everywhere.
Nice freindly and helpful staff especially reception.

Great location, the best hostel I ever stayed in. Clean, comfortable bed, great breakfast.
Helpful staff, very comfortable beds, quiet at night, good price and outstanding location.
Activities they had available are good value for money, nice staff always on hand to help.

Proximity to Amtrak Station! Also a lot of bathrooms.
- in the city center
- friendly and helpful staff.
Clean spacious bathrooms and comfotable bed.
The helpfulness of the employees.
Bathroom were very very
clean.
Friendly, helpfull.
The location is at downtown area. It is very convenient for me to take a walk to Canada Place, English Bay and Stanely Park. All of them are within a 15-20 minute walk to reach it. There is just a bus stop in front the hotel, so it is easy for me to take bus #14 to UBC and Granville island (Public market).
I liked the location, price and the free breakfast. I liked the events that we attended through the hostel.
Located pretty much directly across the road from the venue I was attending a gig at.
Good room, tv, breakfast included, private washroom and free wifi.
excellent location; staff was friendly and helpful. Clean linen.
Right in the middle of the "bar district".
The price & location.
good location.
Free Breakfast is good;location is excellent.
Granville Street is super noisy. I did turn on my A/C just to block out the noise and slept just fine my second night once I did that. There was also something that looked like dead worms in my sink drain, so I tried not to look too closely!.
The only thing I didn't like is that the online booking price didn't include the tax in the price so when we got there it ended up costing more money than I thought it would. But otherwise everything else was fantastic.
Analog TV barely functions, but who cares?.
Only microwaves in kitchen, though not too much of a big deal.
Lift not working most of the time and when it did I didn't trust it!,so consequently going up and down 3 floors.
Not enough seats at breakfast.
It's what you expect from what you pay for.. It's a hostel, not a fancy hotel, but well kept and clean.
the zone in which the hostel is situated is not very nice, full of homelesses along that occupy half of the sidewalk. It's not hostel's fault, but it's not nice.
Noisy at night from the nightlife on granville street.
Smelly carpets
Upper bed with no stairs.
That we had to go back to work and so couldn't stay longer. :).
The matress in my first room was a bit too soft.
No lunch :(.
Free wifi was too slow bathrooms were not exactly private - accessible
with anyone's keycard.
The location was in a noisy, noisy place.
The Breakfast room was too small for the amount of people using it, not enough tables for people to sit down to eat.
Dark hallways and small bathrooms.
- very basic.
Short time for breakfast so very busy in the kitchen and dining area.
Room is extremely small.
Needs bigger kitchen facilities for this size HI.
I stayed at a Double room with Private Bathroom room. Two disadvantages are that~~Firstly, it dose not smell good in the room. The carpet is a little dirty; Secondly, there is a low-frequency noise made from the engines of the air-conditioners outside the window of the room. It made me hard to fall asleep.
I didn't like the overall cleanliness (or lack of). The carpets are gross and have a slightly bad odour. I was afraid to sit in the common areas as the furniture looked run down and greasy/dirty.
I was not able to access wi-fi in my room, as it did not extend that far.
No dislikes.
Kitchen was too small-no room to sit down because lots of people were
trying to have breakfast with only a few tables and chairs.
the carpets...ahh, rather old; no reserved parking.
Room furnishing & facilities.
the strange odor in the room, maybe because of humidity..
Window is locked and non-adjustable. Housekeeping is unregular and I
lost my towels there! The kitchen floor is sticky and sofa in common
area smells bad.
The windows cannot be opened, so it is extremely warm in the room, you cannot sleep. The street is very noisy (Fridays, Saturdays). The kitchen floor is just DIRTY. Very old furnitures, etc. You pay the breakfast, but in case you leave beofre 08:00 they do not prepare anything for you or reimburse part of the money. Wi-fi doesn't works prety well, I finished paying in their computer to do the check-in.
Location-in the centre but a rough area.
It's looks a bit worn out and is not really clean: there was a mouse running in the kitchen....! Breakfast is nice, but the breakfast room is way too small for everybody to sit. It's conveniently located downtown, but the street were it is in, is not the nicest.
