Staff was very helpful with giving suggestions for the activities in the city and spoke good English. Rooms are very nice and neat. Breakfast was excellent! One of the best we had in Brazil. Location is very safe, which is important if you visit Salvador. For taxis we recommend to use the hotel contact. -

No one could visit and not appreciate the care and thought that has gone into the design and attention to detail, especially in the bay-facing rooms, with their balconies and spacious, comfortable rooms. Love it, love it, love it. You have to make this your base for Salvador.... Stunning place, really nicely decorated with every detail thought about. Super friendly staff full of lots of tips and hints about the town. Gerusa et Stéphane ont été adorables et très chaleureux. Ils nous ont bien conseillé sur les points touristiques et m'ont aidé quand j'étais malade (l'huile de palme peut être fatale! :-)). La décoration de la pousada est très typique et on s'y sent bien. Il y aussi pas mal de bars très sympas dans la rue où on peut boire un dernier verre et écouter un concert avant de remonter se coucher.

Location was excellent, in the heart of Pelhourhino. Even though accommodation reflected the historic nature of the buildings and area (basic and old fashioned) it added to the feel of being in an historic, authentic location.
We had a room which adjoined a communal terrace with fantastic sea views and ideal for enjoying a late night drink.

We enjoyed our stay at Pousada Colonial very much. We stayed only one night and wish we have stayed longer. The hotel is an old beautiful building located close (10-15 minute walk) to the historical center of Salvador. We loved bright and tasteful interior of the hotel. The room was beautiful and clean.
