Professionalism of staff-English speaking staff at front desk 24 hours daily during our stay-Dec.18-21,2013. My wife suddenly became ill during the middle of the night and the staff directed us to a 24 hour clinic only two blocks away with an English speaking Doctor leaving us very satisfied with the service provided by the hotel and the clinic. -

The reception staff spoke English and were very helpul in advising and assisting with tours, bookings of taxis and general advice. The room staff were very efficient and the restaurant was great with both breakfasts, and al a carte meals for dinner. The location, one street back from the beach at Copacobana was excellent.

Fantastic position in betweem Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. We had the master suite which was perfect if you are travelling with a grown-up son. Fantastic view over the sea and Copacabana!
I was jogging barefeet along the waterline every morning! Faboulous!
Still it was easy to reach shops and the city centre by underground.

The hotel is directly at the beach and within an easy walk to Ipanema and Arpoador, both of which are nicer than Copacabana. The sea can get a bit dirty at this end of the beach but then it is a 5 minute walk to the above.

The management and all the staff were very helpful and friendly it is situated near the old town square of Largo de Marcado 10 minutes pleasant walk from Flamengo beach and park with its own metro station located in the square everywhere you need to go is easy to reach but do avoid rush hour plenty of restaurants and tapas bars shops and supermark

There are several things I loved about Scorial Rio Hotel:
1. The rooms were very very comfortable with the most up to date technology, beautiful bathrooms, and most importantly, very clean.
2. The Flamengo area is a great in Rio de Janeiro to stay, where you can stay at a great hotel, but not pay the price as you would in Copacabana or Ipanema. Restaurants in the area are great and its a safe area. There is also lots of shopping that can be done in Flamengo.

There were just no problems with anything, a refreshing change from most hotels these days!
Internet worked, service in restaurants was perfect, front desk was very helpful, bellhops were helpful, price was great etc. -

The staff were very professional, friendly and spoke excellent English - unlike staff at most hotels in Lapa and Glória.
The breakfast service is fairly standard but good.
If you have a room in the back, you have a gorgeous view of Corcovado and you can see the Redentor (barely but still)

The lay-out of the rooms is spacious for Rio, and the AC was nice an -
rooms are clean, with daily room cleaning during your stay, shower hot and good pressure, bed and pillows comfortable, staff speak fluent english and are all very polite and helpful. The location is great, about 700m from metro, bus stops even closer, taxi's driving past front door at any time of day or night, very accessible, walkin distance to arches of lapa, and night life area.

Our stay at the Ipanema Plaza was excellent. When we arrived tired (without luggage, lost by the airline) we were offered a room already at 0600 although we hadn't expected to check-in until 1400. Our room on the Ipanema Floor was really lovely, nice modern furnishing and fantastic view of the beach. The hotel restaurant is really good and the breakfast was also excellent.

Great location near beach, restaurants, fast food kfc etc,
shops, drugstores and stores. Pleasant helpful staff. Gym not tops if you are into that. Pool not exactly clean but that`s same most places in Rio. Room very comfortable and clean. Bedding not tops but it`s what you pay for. Price reasonable comparatively speaking.
