Location, easy to find by any taxi, light on my bed, free wi-fi, free breakfast, dinning area where I can eat my own food, all in all great value for my money. I will do it again hopefully I have the same positive experience.
the location of the hostel is good, close to the subway and also easier to the union station. Also can walk to White House. Separate space for the beds, that is great !

Stupid convenient!! If you're coming in via Union Station, the dc
Circular is a block away. Also good for getting to the u Street corridor
for night life and easy walk to almost everything else.
I liked the selection of breakfast foods (better than what you usually get at other hostels), the free tours of te city held by friendly volunteers and the social atmosphere.
The building has a cafe on 2nd floor. Free continental breakfast is served every morning. A bed room I stayed in is big and clean.
Location and price. Dorms rooms were large,lockers large enough to accomodate luggage, free earplugs.

The man responsible for cleaning was always very welcoming and polite. Actually, he and the other woman were even more helpful than the girl on the check-in area to explain how to lock my bag after checking-out. He should be given a chance to replace her, in my opinion; or, at least, help her teaching kindness.

Space between bed and locker very limited for two people. I also think they should give a lock as a complimentary gift.

Noisy! Sound echoed through the halls like mad...and the hall reeked of
mildew-or something equally foul! Internet only on floors 1 and 2. Bed
was only ok. Bathroom sinks water saver feature was a pain. Caution on
the stairs! Very steep, very twisty!.
The fact that large groups of young school children were staying there too. They tended to be very loud at night. Also I was not made aware that maintenance work was going to be conducted on the wall across from my bunk causing dust to go all over my bed and possessions. The air conditioning unit made really loud noises on my last night there. Probably should get that fixed...
Shower rooms are OK, but it could be more confortable.

relatively anonymous hostel, you had to pay for lockers, you have to pay on top of the booking price if you are not an HI member.

My mattress was the worst on earth. But what I really didn't like was the fact that I was awaken with a flashlight on my face by one of the staff who requested my name and didn't even explain why. It was so horrible that I couldn't sleep anymore and I didn't receive any explanation about that afterwards. I'm really disappointed, especially for being a member. I don't feel like suggesting HI to any person traveling to DC.

AIR CONDITIONING BROKEN WAS 100 DEGREES!!! Pillows are hard as rocks...bring your own if you want to sleep at all.
