location! View!
someone hit our car while parked in front of the hotel (boohoo!)
our second stay here. We live locally but have events in SF. This hotel is our first choice. Fab location and Hotel. We had a corner room which looked out to the ferry building and the street cars. Hip boutique hotel. This visit the only - was the fan constantly blowing in the room/bath. I slept in the robe for I was cold. If I turned on the heat the room would have been hot for the others. easy to walk around and pick up a cab here.
just the room fan blowing
Lovely decor and great location.
My room rate (for the same room was $200 a night higher on Monday night than it was on the weekend. I would rather that the rate be averaged out over the 4 days that I stayed. It makes me feel foolish to pay $200 a night more for the very same room that I stayed in the night before. It reflected a total amount when I booked it. Didn't realize the disparity in the daily rates until I checked out.
Excellent staff. Friendly and professional. Luxurious clean and near to shopping and restaurants.
Location, decor, staff
Nothing
Great staff.
Most everything was great
For the high price, they really should provide a complimentary breakfast.
-Hotel is a boutique hotel, without guests from tour travel companies. -Room very comfortable and quiet, despite facing main street Embarcadero. -From hotel, take walk to Embarcadero to Fisherman's wharf (45min). -Hotel is opposite to Market Place (Ferry Building), with many small food shops and good places where to eat. Go to Hog's Oyster Bar.
-Parking 50$ per night without any possibility for street parking. -Bathroom with only shower. -No coffee inside room, but coffee available in the lobby.
Great location. The room we booked wasn't available so 3 out of 4 days we were upgraded to an ocean view room which was fantastic! Good terrace bar with views of the ocean and ferry building. Right by tram for quick access to Union Square shopping, piers.
like the room design, bed was comfortable, tv large, staff friendly and professional
no parking at the motel....had to park a block away and it was really a problem...
Excellent Service and accomodations.
everything was perfect, hotel staff always smile, large room, comfort bed, well design,i lose my ring in the room, staff keep it safely until i back to the hotel
nothing
yoga in the mornings great location
low floor room ok - not worthy of high price
everything
location, spectacular outside common area deck, staff attitude; excellent concierge help, free easy to access wifi.
slightly slow to respond to a small engineering request (drain clearing)..had to ask twice; no paper on Sunday, lack of hooks on back of doors, or towel rings in sink area.
Location, view, comfort, amenities, bed, service
That I had to leave
We like everything from the bell boy. to the desk person at check in and check out. The service was outstanding. The location was beautiful and romantic. All the resturant food was the best.
Panhandlers ( not the Hotels fault )

Location and room view excellent. Staff friendly and efficient
Menu limited and not really to our tastes but that is personal
Staff very friendly and hotel design
No coffee maker in room
great location
we were promised a comp night and did not get it. they upgraded us to a view room which is the same view from our home in mill valley. the hotel did not credit us with a 350.00 credit and i spent months and many hours researching the item only to fin d out the hotel never made the journal.
Premium location, very professional and friendly staff, excellent boutique hotel.
Design and food
No pool
location
Convenient location. Helpful staff and a popular buzzy bar.
No parking other than paying an astronomical daily rate.
excellent massage treatments at spa, and hot tub "bath ritual" on rooftop garden excellent service from concierge
Service location hotel spa food staff
Drinks at americano
Loved the outside space... on the balconies! Met friends for a drink out there, enjoyed the sunshine, the bay view, and even saw a wedding on the upper balcony! Room was wonderful too! Very comfortable and clean!
Friendly staff, great restaurant, great location
The room itself was no nicer than an upscale airport hotel
The location is great - we have stayed here twice before and it is very easy to get around.
The hotel is looking a little tired and is in need of a facelift. It seemed to be far more business-client based and this meant lots of men and women in suits being very loud and making it difficult to find a seat in the bar most evenings!
The location to the att ballpark and Ferry Building and other great restaurants I have stayed a nunber of times and love the bay bridge lights rooms and the outside bathtub experience at the spa
Advertise "city lights" room which ended up being the view of nothing Very expensive
Location of the Embarcadero.
We were not able to use the bar for two early evenings because of the crush of "after 5" people.Room service menu was unusable for most
Great hotel, with modern design. Upgrade for an awesome bay view.
view
Bed was hard a lumpy. You had to request a coffee pot, and the parking fee.
room was lovely, very quiet, well furnished.
Location was great. Staff were helpful. Roof top terraces were very nice and gave good views of the surrounding sites.
friendly staff, great location, lovely furnishings....
Service was excellent, clean quiet and safe, accessible and centrally located.
The bay view
Location was perfect for our city trip.
atmosphere
tub had hairs in it so didn't bathe.
When leaving our luggage after our early morning arrival, we LOVED the fact that they let us check in to our room several hours early! They offered it to us unsolicited, which would be totally unheard of in most hotels! Loved the daily complimentary water, yoga, & 24-hr fitness room. We highly recommend this hotel; My husband and I have both travelled extensively and the Hotel Vitale staff knows how to do things right! We will definitely stay here again if in San Francisco.
Room configuration did not allow for late night reading without disturbing others, but the flashlight made it "work".
It is such a comfortable hotel. It really feels like a home away from home.
The decor was beautiful and simple; and the front-door staff was cheerful and helpful, and always there.
Not nearly enough room to unpack clothes etc. from suitcase--no real drawer space.
Liked location which was walkable to friends and relatives - also in an area where meals were readily available upon late arrival from airport...
Inside room w frosted windows, so no view - so very dark and claustrophobic - only one chair (desk chair) - for the $ there should definitely be an upholstered easy chair. Promised NYTimes but forgot, did not refill minibar the entire time, breakfast for 2 arrived on a tray which had to squished onto the top of the desk with my mirror and cosmetics. No one was concerned that both guests could sit at a table to dine...
Overall, it was a good experience particularly because of the wonderful views from the 7th floor terrace and the hotel's location to the Ferry Building and many great restaurants.
For this hotel, we expected all hotel staff to be courteous and professional. While most met our expectations, there were one or two who were not very friendly or they simply lacked any genuine sense of hospitality.
Hotels location, bed and bed linens were lovely.
The room's decorative ornaments were very dusty. Lampshade was stained. Not what you expect for $500 a night, not including parking.
The surrounding community.
Room was dirty especially the bathroom.
The shower
The price for such a small room
Location
Room, and there was not view as advertised.
