For us its luxury its a heritage and despite of its oldness it remains to be one of the best hotel in new york city. Beautiful people. Staff are excellent they make sure that they satify their guest. Line was not a problem during the check-in its fast and make sure that guest can enjoy there stay.

Room is bit cramped, no tea making facilities. They do a pending charge as well as account charge so debit cards/credit cards show double amount withdrawn. Takes 3 weeks for pending charge to disappear - very annoying

Fabulous location, beautiful reception area and comfortable rooms. Food was excellent although we only used Peacock Alley so can't speak for the rest.
Arrived at 3pm for check in after long flight and 2 hour taxi ride but room was not ready. Room was still not ready at 4.30. Was exhausted by then. We were given a room upgrade but it really isn't good enough. The room itself was very comfortable but a bit shabby in places and not properly vacuumed and dusted. Expected a bit better

My sons visit to ny was always Waldorf Astoria( our home in ny ) Being a known bussinesman in Turkey all my friend visiting ny stayed at wa after my advise.. We were upgraded upon checkin. Which was a nice treat.
We had the breakfast buffet and there were no menus or other options and we were not aware that it would be $100.00 for 2 of us for a buffet. Although everything was great. It would have been nice to know what the price was.

Upon entering the hotel, one is welcomed with exquisite beautiful beyond belief. The staff are very professional individuals and are eager to please. Also, the level of security is very important in a place like NYC, and the Waldorf takes extra measures to ensure everyone feels a high level of security. We arrived at 1:30am and were told to use the door key to navigate the elevator between the hours of 6pm - 6am. This one security measure was appreciated. Our room was clean and very well stocked. This was one of the best trips of our lives and we could not have been more pleased with our accommodations, and already looking forward to our next trip to NYC and The Waldorf!!!!
Lovely landmark hotel in a central location and good value for accompdation. Too expensive to eat or drink there though. Shame !!!

The room was very comfortable and very well fitted out. The atomosphere in the hotel lobby was excellent with piano music which you could relax in comfort
For a top class hotel it lacked tea/coffee making facilities which is available in hotels of a lesser categorie

The early bird (5-6.30) Taste of the Waldorf Option in the Bull and Bear Restaurant was good at $55. The staff were very helpful there. The whole place oozes old world charm and opulence. It is clean and well kept. The staff take great pride in the place and many are there for many years.
WiFi wasn't included in the room rate. Breakfast is a bit overpriced, even for nyc, with the continental option about $20 and the hot option $40 per person plus tax and gratuity.

location is excellent - in proximity to 5th ave, Central park. Hotel is beautiful, yet for the price it's a bit too high. Breakfast is very good (the only buffet we found in 4 hotels in NYC and Annapolis), but again - 100$ for a couple for breakfast is bit too high.
very high price tag - unjustifyable. TV was poor - more or less oK movies and programs came at a charge 4.99-16.99$ per view.

Everything was good at the hotel. especially the spacious double room.
The food I am sorry to say was really the worast I had in New York. We ordered a steak and a lobster. Very expensive and really tough and bony and the lobster tasted like it was frozen for 20 years. I didn't make a fuss with the waiter because I didnt want to spoil the evening. I might stay at the horel again but will never eat the food at the restaurant or room service. it doesn't live up to your good name.
I am Russell's partner (Helene) - have stayed with you before. The decor is superb and the food in the Bull & Bear is excellent. The hotel in general has a pleasant ambiance.
The French champagne wasn't as cold as it should be for the standard of this hotel. Room windows were dirty but understand it is almost impossible to keep these clean,

The location was up near times square so it was a fair way out from the villages of soho and greenich where the main restaurant areas were. The automated mini bar meant I had to dispute the charges every day.

Still feel that hotel is overpriced and wished booking included breakfast. Had breakfast at Oscars in hotel and paid $100 for two for a mediocre brunch at best! Never again will I eat there at those prices. Coffee maker would be nice.

Everything was excellent 5*****, the location of the hotel, the food, the drinks, the staff and the warming decoration everywhere in the hotel.
The space in the room when you are 4 adults and some queen beds (60'') would be better.
Beauty of old building. Could say I stayed at the Waldorf.
We were on 26th floor and ice was on 16th. Had to order ice daily through room service (and tip). Ice was not complimentary. Room foyer was musty.
The staff was great and Sarah was a gem!

Room was priced in line with other New York hotels but beveridges and extras were outrageous. A soda from the mini-bar was $7.62 and the cheapest glass of wine in hotel bar was $17. I would not stay there again.

No free internet in the room. Bar fridge not checked before we entered the room - one half drunk bottle of wine there -which I was charged for even after taking the trouble to point this problem out to relive not staff!

There was no coffee maker in the room. Toiletries were lower than average for a hotel of this category. The maid did not tidy up or take away the empty boxes from the room (from shopping), she just made the bed and hung the towels.

The somewhat faded and tatty decoration of the bedroom. Perhaps the lack of little luxuries in the bathroom.

Even though we stayed at a junior suite and had a hudge balcony, the room just seemed a little outdated and overley used. The curtains had strings handing from them (they just looked old) and the inside doors looked worn out.

The entire atmosphere at Waldorf was warm and welcoming. Everyone was polite and accommodating. It is a high end hotel so expect things to be expensive. The fitness room was well equipped, clean and the staff was courteous. The room was clean and a good size. It had all the essentials. There are some signs of wear in the room but the hotel is in the midst of upgrades so hopefully some of those minor things will be addressed.
The hotel only provides free wi fi in the lobby. Would have been nice to have it in the entire building. Would be nice to have a more 'affordable' breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.
