The hotel is located on the city center. Quiet, friendly, polite & helpful personel, nice comfortable room, I liked the vgew also & nice breakfast. Good ratio between quality of services & price.
The location is absolutely the best, when visiting Kiev. Nice cityscape from the window, if your room is high enough. Everything is reachable by walking. The hotel is clean and pleasant, although economy rooms still have their ceramic tiles and doors from hotel's opening in 1961. But it's absolutely OK for the price asked. Very good breakfast as well. Good soundproofing (at least we didn't hear what was happening on Maidan Nezalezhnosti on opposite side of the building, and it was really HOT there on that days).
If You're not a news reporter, then preferrably stay away from this location in case of unrests in Kiev - the hotel is overlooking Maidan Nezalezhnosti - the very heart of all major meetings of opposition and revolutions. The hotel itself cannot be blamed for this, but You may face some difficulties getting out of it and getting back, since nearby streets may be blocked. Just keep that in mind - otherwise - highly recommended, as it has exceeded my expectations.
As a Professional Guide with 36 years of experience I must admit that ukrai̇ne hotel is perfectly located in front of Maidan Independent ( By the way We,Turks call Square "Meydan") and with spectacular views of the Kiev.I Contemplate the domes of St.Sophia Cathedral and St.Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery through my room's windows. I recommend Ukraine Hotel Which is in the heart of Kiev and 5 minutes far away from the Metro Station on feet.
Sauna is rarely open.We called attendant but He didnt come.
Very friendly staff and many spoke English. Rooms were nice and location was excellent.
My only complaint is the mattresses. They are old and should be replaced. I could feel the springs. I remember the same problem last time I stayed there.

Staff was helpfull all the time. They even try to help you if you encounter something in your trip not even about the hotel. There was an exchange office which is much more economic than the banks on the city center. Best location comparing all of the hotels in Kiev for sure. I would really want to stay there again.

The location is supreme and rooms are reasonably comfortable. The Soviet atmosphere lingers and you can see this in the room and the often tiny bed.
The bed can be very small and if you get a bigger bed your bed sheet is very small and doesn't cover the bed properly nor yourself. Breakfast is passable but it could be better. They have "cabaret" with girls dancing and stripping but it is pretty dull with hardly any girls around and those that are around look pretty bored.

Location and old style (Soviet) atmosphere. There are still floor ladies on every floor who will give you as much water as you want and will wash your clothes. WiFi worked properly and reception desk was helpful but frequently busy helping people. There is an "erotic" bar with pole dancing in the lobby. Great view of the city and square from higher up floors. Breakfast was also good in a nice room.
Bed is really small and shower head was not stable. Minor gripes though. Probably a bit too expensive for what it offers but, hey, it is a landmark in the city.

Staff customer service very basic and in need of extra training espcially in the dining breakfast. Also the money exchange counter the lady was quite rude and sharpe with very direct with me. I didn't appreciate and was quite moody.
we arrived very early (7.00 am) and they let us check without any extra payment. I also asked for a room with the view to the square and this was no problem too.
Location is excelent. Breakfast was good with several choices of cold and warm dishes and drinks.
WiFi needs to be purchased on reception, but you can ask for LAN cable at your floor from maintenance lady and use free internet on wire.

Although a little dated, Ukraine Hotel was very enjoyable.
Please do not make the same mistake we did and agree for security staff to organise a taxi. The taxi driver introduced by the security staff charged 3 times more than normal fare. Beware of scams!!!

Krestsatik str. was closed for valking so I spend some time to approach hotel with car. But it was small problem.
I asked for taxi, they give me two times expensive taxi, than the usual taxi companies gives you. They offered (on the reception) 35 euro to the airport, but it cost maximum 20 euro by any taxi)!!!!!
Perfect location right on the central square of Kiev. Most famous sights are within easy walking distance; subway station a few steps away. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was hearty. Free wifi available.
Bathroom may benefit from some sprucing up.
Location nice and staff great nice! They arranged what we hope very quickly with smile. Metro and supermarket are very nearby,just a few minutes. We could watch the independence squar from the window,and visit nice historical places by foot. Breakfast is also nice!

Breakfast is terrible. There's very little to choose from and what is on offer isn't very appealing. I would avoid paying for this until they sort it out.

The best view you can possibly have in Kyiv. My window was right in front of Maydan. Amazing. Rooms are spacious and beds very large.
Very few facilities (no safe in room for example), Internet free but not very easy to access because of the login system.
