The quality of the room and breakfast included in the cost, which made it excellent value for money, especially with the mid-week discount. It was very quiet in the hotel, despite the renovations, and not too far from the city centre. All members of staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful. We've also looked into reservations to stay there again in november/ december. We have complaints whatsoever about anything within the hotel. kaikki arvostelut »
Staff were excellant and very accommodating. Hotel was going throughrenovation but the rooms were clean, modern and more than we hadoriginally expected. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. Excellent and delicious breakfast looking out onto a lovely walled garden.large flat screen tv jaccuzi bath was a real treat. Full breakfast very good nice bonus. friendly staff, helpfull, lovely location, room excellent, food great, would stay again. Perfect location, very efficient manager and delicious breakfast. The location was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was brilliant with a few unexpected extra's, such as a hot tub (which unfortunately didn't work).Wonderful place in a great location -- full of character, with a lovely garden to the rear. We both felt very welcome and were well looked after throughout our stay -- hotel, restaurant/food, staff and service, were all to a high standard. We would both definitely come by here again! :). Convenient location, beautiful room, very comfortable bed. Good breakfast.the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellant. Even though the hotel was being refurbished this did not cause any problems to our stay. I liked the fact that the pictures on the website totally matched the room when we got there.Excellent friendly staff, who went out of their way to assist us. Good sized room and very clean. Would stay again. Pleasant and helpful staff. Hotel clean and comfortable considering renovation was going on. Very good breakfast. The bathroom was lovely, especially liked the bubble bath. accessability to the town centre and the view. staff were very good looked after me well. The room was comfy and had some nice extra touches like a big TV with DVD player and a spa bath. food was excellent the chicken and bacon was fantastic. Reception staff were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and nicely cooked. The illuminated whirlpool bath and multi-jet shower were wonderful.Close to train station and ideally situated for being able to see allthe sights of York on foot. It was a friendly hotel and served an excellent freshly cooked breakfast.Excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable accomodation. Very friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast included.staff very friendly. Friendly, efficient staff, lovely cooked breakfast, perfect location just outside the gates of a local park, of which the pathway led straight to the city centre (5 min walk), easy to find just off the main road and car parking approx. 100 yards away. The room itself was spacious and modern with a large TV featuring over 20 channels. The location was good. The price was very reasonable. The breakfast was excellent. Pleasant Hotel in a good location. ..The new manager seems to have the right idea to drag this hotel intothe 21st century,. Good luck to her. the room was immaculate and very comfortable. The hotel was very central and we enjoyed the whilrpool bath!. Good breakfast. proximity to the centre of York, but in a quiet sidestreet opposite pleasant public gardens. To be told that they were doing a major refit. Comfortable, well-decorated room. Breakfast. There was a lack of hooks and rails in the bathroom - but as work was in progress this may get sorted later.no could not fault it excellent location nicest hotels i have stayed in. There was no hot water avaliable when we wanted to shower at night before going out for a meal. We had £40 knocked off the price, but was still a dissapointment. We were somewhat disappointed that there was a shower only and not a tub in the bathroom, as we'd both have liked to have had a much-needed soak in the bath, during our stay -- however, this is only minor... the only down side was the car park was quite difficult to get in and out of but once we parked we didnt use the car untill we left so not too bad.Shower meant for someone four foot tall other than that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment, which when complete will make the jorvic a very nice place to stay. the plumbing meant we had to leave the room we had booked but no one ensured it had coffee machine, towel rails, bin or a heater it was cold as was another of our guests rooms which had no advertised coffee maker however staff were helpful nand after being informed tried to sort some of the problems. old building so heating was a all or nothing affair. very small bar area so good as a place to stay not so good as a place to sit in the evenings. Room cleaning could have been better - the bed was left unmade on two days, and the hot drinks supplies were not replenished without a request having to be made,. No, it is a typical mid-price BandB/hotel. still undergoing renovation - our room was complete and had some nice extras unfortunately though tiling etc a bit 'roughly' finished which spoilt this. No onsite parking, the car park approx 100 yards away was £10 for 24 hours stay. The hotel was being renovated at the time so it looked a tad shabby. All in all however I would happily recommend this hotel. It was not possible to get a good reception on the TV. The radio/telephone did not work (fitting was loose). It was not easy to wotk out how to use the tea/coffee maker (no instructions). There was a nice menu in the room and the price of the meals looked reasonable. When we went to get a meal we found that meals were not being served. There was nothing on the menu sheet to indicate this. Superior room lacked space and did not have a hairdrier or shaver point. The first room we were put in was diabolical , but when we complained tothe management, they moved us to another room which had beenrefurbished.the television ws not working at al during our stay despite having reported it to the staff twice. The TV in our room only worked for 10 mins. No heating in the bathroom.Very small room. Bathroom fittings poor considering place had just been refurbished.major building work taking place in the hotel during our stay.information in the rooms was basic.no central heating, hotel cold. There was some extensive refurbishment going on, which meant we stayed in a room which was not centrally heated, however a heater was provided. The ensuite bathroom was very cold. As we only stayed 1 night we did not complain, but I would not have wanted to stay longer in these conditions.Slight air of chaos. Not having any cold water in the room in morning. Hot water was issuing from cold and hot taps. The fact that our room wasnt ready, no four poster bed and they couldnt cook a breakfast.
