Set in the idyllic North York Moors, The Grainary offers 4-star accommodation with beautiful countryside views. The farm is set in 200 acres of open countryside in Harwood Dale, and has its own wildlife and numerous scenic walking routes. Each of the 14 colourful, modern rooms in The Grainary include en suite bathrooms, as well as a Freeview TV and a welcome tray with tea, coffee, and biscuits. The country tearooms and restaurant serve a variety of home-baked, cakes and scones, along with a number of home-made hearty, locally sourced dishes with views of Scarborough Castle. There is also a garden centre selling flowers, seeds, and plants, and a games room and outdoor playground area for children. Free parking is available at The Grainary, and the seaside town of Scarborough is 15 minutes’ drive away. Historic Whitby can be reached in 20 minutes by car. Harwood Dale Forest which is 4 miles from The Grainary is popular for watching wildlife including birds, roe deer, badgers, foxes and dragonflies.

The grainary is amazing, can't wait to go again, you are in the middle of the countryside and wake up to birds singing and overlooking the animals and fields, a true break from reality, my children aged 14 and 6 could not have been happier, they loved the play room and had some fab long walks around the farm petting the super friendly animals as we went, I could not recommend this place highly enough and the staff always had time for a little chat with the children, also only a short very sceni.
kaikki arvostelut » The Grainary is a working farm, with a B&B on the side, so if you like the atmosphere of a farm, off on the edge of the moors, you'll love it. Children are especially well catered for, as they have every imaginable farm animal in the fields near the house, plus dogs, rabbits, a ferret and certainly one or two I've missed. The animals are friendly and approachable, needless to say. The couple running the place are warm, smiling and welcoming, and made us feel very much at home. There are ple. The Location is fantastic on a working farm with sensational views of the Yorkshire Dales with a number of planned and timed walks available. Breakfast is extensive and along with a limited menu Dinner is good quality home cooking coupled with very competitively priced wines. There is a very comfortable Lounge with good views, and a children's play area, games room and access to view farm animals. The whole grainary experience was 1st class. The friendliness of the staff, the accomodation was excellent as were the breakfasts and evening meal. The location was stunning with lovely views over the countryside. The grounds were child friendly with a separate play area and you also had the chance to feed the farm animals. What a beautiful place to relax and unwind. every thing brilliant clean tidy very friendly ,farm animals very friendly loved taking dogs a walk harry and loll ,blue all nice happy and friendly but favorite was bess a working farm dog ,made us laugh one day taking her down to pond forgot she was taking us a chicken had got out she started herding it back in to yard billiant. I booked this as a surprise for husbands birthday he didn't know till we arrived outside . What a beautiful place to stay so happy with my choice clean and comfortable and friendly. It was that nice we have booked for this Saturday and taking our Daughter and my Mum and Dad x Highly Recomend. Well presented, friendly staff, extremely welcoming, amazing food, fantastic location. Family friendly atmosphere, will be bringing the kids next time. Little details like ear plugs provided in rooms. Overall, spot on!. my husband and I were very happy with everything, the owners are very friendly, the scenery is beautiful, it had just what we wanted for our short stay in North Yorkshire. The menu was varied and very good. The staff at the grainary were really welcoming and friendly. The hotel was spotless and the breakfast was also lovely. I would definitely return. Superb location. Excellent parking. Excellent service and good value for money. We have previously lived on a farm and it suited us to perfection!. The peace and quiet,the food was first class and the staff could not do enough to make our stay one to remember,will go back again. We enjoyed the ambience of the farm, relaxation, not like staying in a hotel, but being with friends for the weekend. Location was excellent with great family staff,it's like a home from home with all the creature comforts. Location, friendly hosts, farm hand very helpful, animals, the collies, comfortable and warm room. I have stayed at the Grainery before and find it homely and friendly. A great place for the kids. The staff were lovely - as was the breakfast. The rooms were extremely clean. The staff very hellpful, comfortable beds and lovely breakfast. Great place to stay, and the anomal experience was wonderful. Very pleasant surroundings and was made to feel very welcome. The location was beautiful and the food was delicious. The very friendly owners and the relaxed atmosphere. The grainary was warm welcoming the staff brilliant. I Liked it all. I will be going back. Enough said. Friendly, home from home atmosphere. Only one complaint - the shower was a bit difficult. The hose was kinked and blocked the water flow, and it was difficult to get a decent flow of water at a reasonable temperature; it was either a trickle of scalding hot, or a trickle of freezing cold... If that were fixed, there'd be nothing not to like!. Some may not like the fact that is a working farm and children will need to be supervised. This was not a concern for us. nothing to dislike food homed cooked , hosts brilliant everyone friendly and helpful would reccomend to any one will be back thanks. Nothing to say all good. The curtains in the room were a bit too thin, meaning not much chance of a lie in, but with breakfast at 8.15 you can argue that's not a bad thing. Plus, you could always wear a sleep mask!. All was good - no negatives. The sausages. Hollow walling between rooms. Towels a little threadbare. The rooms were fairly basic, only double beds, not king-sized. VERY noisy - a dog in a room close by whimpered most of the evening and every sound from the adjacent bedrooms could be heard, walls were paper thin. Nothing will definitely stay again. Shower was difficult to use. Having to leave. Poor wi-fi connection. initial welcome.
