The guys were great, from a lovely warm welcome, to a nice cooked breakfast (not greasy or under-cooked) which I had plenty of choice to cater me and my girlfriends taste buds, furthermore I always felt confident in getting advice for tripping around the local area from Jamie, who managed to save us 25% at a lovely local Indian. Our shower head burst slightly which still worked completely fine so we didn't regard it as a problem, still we politely informed Jamie of this and he got it sorted in .
kaikki arvostelut » During our stay at the almar we had an amazing welcome, the owner Jamie was really helpful and was there to help us with anything we needed. He gave us a map of Scarborough and talked us through everywhere that he recommended, and helped us with any other questions. He welcomed us whenever we came into the hotel and checked we had a good day! Jamie is a lovely man and we are honoured to of stayed in this hotel! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone as you will have the time of your. My wife and I stayed at the Almar Sat 9th to Frid 15th March 2013. The weather that week was terrible to say the least and if the Almar had not been as good as it is we would have come home. Jamie the owner of the Almar was without a doubt the best host we have ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble to help make our stay enjoyable. The all guest house is spotless and Jamie is obviously very proud of his high standard in cleanliness. The food gets 5 out of 5 and this was a true reflectio. I booked this on behalf of a friend who stayed there. The owner was really helpful on the phone confirming the booking and payment, even phoning me back just to confirm it had all gone through ok. Great customer service. My friend said that the place was very clean and comfortable and did a great breakfast (and my friend likes his food to be right!). He qas pleased there was a dvd player. He also commented on how nice and friendly Jamie was. If i ever have cause to be in Scarborough i would s. Really pleased with our choice. Excellent B&B with good location. Friendly owners who are only too willing to help in any way. Great breakfast, well cooked with good choices. Our double room was extremely clean, nicely decorated with toiletries and tea/coffee facilities. Hairdryer provided and an iron and ironing board available for all guests to use. Loved the fact that there was free parking and a well priced bar. We would have no hesitation on returning or rcommending The Almar to anyone. Generous breakfast, very clean and pleasant room, friendly staff. The 'small double' (room 8) is certainly small, but has almost everything you need. (No room for a chair or desk though). My son slept in single room (room 5) and had a desk and chair and a larger shower- room. Felt much more like a 'hotel' room than ours. Both rooms had a wall-mounted flat screen tv., Tea/coffee tray. Would stay here again. very friendly welcome and attentive during stay - a lot of local knowledge and advice. ensured we had a reserved parking space for the bike - otherwise it would have been on road, somewhere ! Comfy bed and room. As a guest house it did have a bar, although I have to confess we did not use a lot as a good real ale house and brewpub 2 minutes down the road tended to win out. Would definitely stay again. Really Friendly welcome from Jamie, giving lots of useful information. Room was clean and well equipped, as was the rest of the guest house. Has a small well stocked bar. Breakfast was a good quality full English. All in all a very nice guest house, keep up the good work Jamie. The weather was a bit poor, put that on your things to improve on next time Jamie.(Yes I am Joking). The owners Jamie and Michelle were very friendly and helpful. Jamie knows the area very well and was able to give us directions to all the places we wanted to go, plus how long it would take us to get there. The guest house is beautifully decorated and clean. Bed linen and towels were spotless. Would definitely stay there again if we go back to Scarborough. Everything really, the welcome was great, room whilst small was functional and we spent such a small amount of time in it that it didn't really matter. The location was really good right in the middle of both the north and south bay and about 15 mins from town. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of it would definitely return. The owner Jamie was extremely helpful and accommodating to all our request. The brief on local facilities with map on arrival was first class and enhanced our stay in Scarborough. I would certainly recommend The Almar to anyone looking for a first class B&B offering real value for money in a very friendly environment. The Almar is the best place we have been to in a long time Jamie is so friendly and very helpful he helped my partner who was on crutches the room we stayed in was very clean the whole hotel was clean. the breakfast was v.good nothing was to much trouble it's a pity we had to come back early. We wanted a nice relaxing break after just getting married on the Saturday. Jamie and all the staff made us feel special and Jamie was a mind of information on where to eat and drink. I found the room excellant value for the money ie £26 for a single night. The cooked breakfast was very good. I took a couple of your advertising booklets to put in our two staff canteens. 'Small double' room would make a good single instead of a compromise double, but at budget price so you get what you pay for. Mattress, like room decor was new but not of hotel quality, I.E. you feel the springs, so it was a bit of a toss and turn night - a shame as they are obviously trying to do a good job here. Perhaps memory-foam toppers would be a good idea?. Nothing really, a very good B&B at a very reasonable rate. The room we stayed in was a bit tired and dated (but nothing wrong with it) , but jamie did mention this and it is apparently next on list for renovation. Nothing. Nothing to dislike about the Almar would recommend it to all our friends. nothing. nothing. Nothing I didn`t like. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing, all was just perfect. no negatives. Nothing. We had a great stay. Can't fault it. We didn't stay longer!. Our en-suite was very small (there are plans to change that). Nothing . Rooms are slightly small. would have liked an extra ring in shower room for towel and a bit more shelving. nill.
