Just a short walk from St Helier waterfront, The Mountview Hotel offers refurbished en suite rooms with free limited private parking, within walking distance of the ferry port. All rooms have en suite facilities and free Wi-Fi access in public areas. Rooms also feature tea and coffee making facilities, a TV, hairdryer and safe. A traditional home-cooked breakfast is served in the modern restaurant. The Mountview also features a lounge and private courtyard. Guests of the Mountview have free use of the indoor heated swimming pool at the Hotel de' Normandie. The Mountview Hotel is a short ferry ride to Elizabeth Castle, and there are a number of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Jersey Airport is 15 minutes’ drive away.

The staff make the place - they are all excellent. Superb inclusive breakfast...best I have had in a hotel - in fact, probably the best anywhere. There is a bit of a slope walking up from town, but I'm an old guy and had no problem - just a 10 minute stroll from St. Helier centre. The hotel is nowhere near the location on Google Maps and the postal address of 'Old' St. John's Road is confusing...It is on the main St. John's Road, directly opposite the top end of Roussel Street.

The breakfasts were gorgeous and the staff were happy to accommodate whatever you fancied to eat. The full English breakfast was very satisfying, served on hot plates the size of a dustbin lid!! Plus the couple who ran the hotel were great, very friendly and helpful. All staff were very friendly. Our room was modern, very clean, and a comfortable bed. An excellent full breakfast was included in our price. The establishment was a little off the beaten track, but only a short enjoyable walk to the city centre. Hassle-free stay, good breakfast selection. You walk down the road for 5 minutes and you are smack in the centre of St. Helier for the shops, etc. The seaside promenade with access to Elisabeth Castle is also close by. Breakfast was a Star! It's central location without being right in the centre where it could have been noisy. Staff were really friendly and helpful especially Faria, what a great asset to the hotel. The carpet in my room was old and stained, making first appearance a little off-putting. Apart from that, everything was fine. At the price, including a breakfast that would cost at least a fifth of the total cost of a night's stay on it's own - no complaints. On arrival rooms smelt a little stuffy,but it soon cleared. nothing to moan about, this is a well run hotel. Internet only worked in the reception area, it would have been nice if it could have worked in our bedroom. Pretty heavy traffic for this small road in St. Helier, be sure to ask for a rear room if you are a light sleeper, which luckily I am not - front-facing rooms do offer a good view towards the city centre. The road to the hotel accordingy goes slightly uphill, could be a bit tiring after a whole day out and about, so maybe take a cab. No wc near Reception No secure Luggage Hold area when booking out. Having to leave after a wonderful 7 days and the breakfasts to die for. Am sure we have put on a little weight. no problems with anything!. The room smelled musty and of smoke We booked the room on the basis of it being a budget double room, but were slightly disappointed for the reason stated above. Nothing at all. Just the parking was a bit of a struggle but managable. Having to return home at the end of the week. could do with a bit more car parking for the size of hotel but not sure were it could be we were ok as we just parked our car and used a bus or walked. Only parking for 4 cars. Not fair to blame hotel for that really. Parking is a problem all over jersey. not enough room for parking hotel is up bit of hill. Parking ( can't really complain as it was in the hotel description) although wasn't too far away. Road noise ( again not hotel's fault). On a bit of a hill on a busy road. Car parking would be difficult in high season Décor could do with a make-over. 2 single quilts on a double bed and that's the only fault i really found. Nothing. Bar was been renovated and was not open during our stay. the room we were given initially was very dark cramped and I could smell smoke ,so we were given another room. Exterior and corridor decor drab. Front of building could do with bright colour, white or sandstone; corridors the same. Narrow paths outside on busy road. Left a dress and never got it back gutted. parking could be A problem if hotel is busy. The dining area could do with an update and the bar was closed. Car parking no pool. noisy music 3am 16th Sunday. Foster Beer in bar best before date 28:02:2013. Wireless was Poor. no food available in evening No pool. Room maintenance poor, our first room had too many basic problems e.g. lights, hooks, taps, shelve that were broken that could easily have been picked up and fixed with change over check, although some seem to have been a problem for some time. We were offered a second room the following day that was much better although it still had one light that didn't work. Wifi only available in reception areas. Shower was not good. We were not told breakfast was at a later time on bank holiday. We had a flight to catch but there was no offer of breakfast or being flexible for us when we arrived early for breakfast. No bar open at any time although there was a lounge there. No real facilities, lounge bar poor, never saw it open. Shower room a little small.
