The location is a ten minute walk to the centre of York and permits are provided to enable you to park outside the hotel. We had a downstairs bedroom with en-suite very comfortable and because the Farthings is situated in a quiet street this was a benefit of having a good nights sleep. The staff were very friendly and and were helpful in giving local information. The cleanliness of the rooms are spot on and they provided a wonderful menu for breakfast, we would definatley recommend this gem of

Very comfortable, clean and modern apartment within easy walking distance to York centre. Friendly and helpful host. Small things that make our stay more like home such as paper towels, olive oil for cooking and summer weight quilt on the bed were much appreciated. the staff from our arrival were more than helpfull, and went out there way to find us a nice resturant to eat in and made the reservation for us. the hotel and the staff were brilliant! - The location and view from our room was excellent as was the room itself. We really enjoyed our stay at the Ashbourne House. The room was fantastic and very inviting. The breakfast was very good and included many choices. The rooms are generously proportioned and the staff couldn't have done enough for us. The breakfasts are excellent. The bed linen and towels are lovely, very luxurious and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel is close to the city centre, around a 10- 15 minute scenic walk. There are restaurants and a supermarket very nearby. Walking distance to the train if minimal, easy to manage luggage. Staff were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel, it is very beautiful.
