  David and Lydie were extremely friendly hosts and were very helpful in telling us how to get around, nothing was too much for them to help with. The rooms were very well designed, spotless and the bed was very comfy, not to mention the view we had (room 8) was spectacular over Edinburgh and the castle! Everything about this hotel was perfect, we will definitely - It's a really lovely decorated house. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really tasty with good choice of food (glutenfree, vegeterian, vegan was no problem). The area was extremely quiet during night time. The house is in walking distance to the castle and the royal mile. There are several good restaurants in walking distance (5-10 minutes).

  The people at Martins Guesthouse were very friendly and the breakfast was perfect. I had the small room with a tiny ensuite bathroom on the top floor, but I knew that beforehand and I do not need much space - so it was perfectly ok for me.   Stuart was so helpful. He went out of his way to fix up a problem with our booking, carrying all our luggage for us up and down lots of stairs! The apartment we booked was right in the centre of Edinburgh, and was extremely comfortable. Really nice & modern, two enormous twin beds, a beautiful master en-suite bedroom and a comfortable bunk bed room. Stuart was also very good in allowing us to check in early and check out later as well as recommending some nice cafes in the area for lunch. Very central to city centre, couldn't recommend it highly enough!

  This was our first trip to Edinburgh. We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice. As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!
