Did not try the restaurant at night but menu looked good and fairly priced. Staff were all very friendly and attentive.   The hotel building was very impressive, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was superb and the food was excellent. Ideally placed for us, as we were attending the March & Rally for Scottish Independence on Calton Hill that weekend.
