we liked everything. We arrived on Fri 10th May and were made very welcome by Angela. Shown to our lovely room, offered coffee and Angela gave us lot's of information on places to go, eat etc. It was great not having to use the car for 3 days as the bus stop not far and took us into Edinburgh. I have never seen so much choice for breakfast, we had the cooked breakfast on both mornings and it was excellent and done to perfection. There were many many more choices if you did not want the cook. kaikki arvostelut »
We chose this because we don't like to be in the center of the big towns we visit. Even if it is a little bit far from the Edinburgh centre, the bus connection is excellent and at a few steps from the house. The Portobello beach is also close, a stunning place, really worth a visit.
Loved the host, very nice lady and very pleasant. Loved the stories she told me about the house. Very good recommendations also.
The house is absolutely charming, very comfortable and warm. Spacious rooms, high cei.
the host is a doll and her husband you really feel at home, very helpful on sites and city knowledge. walking in is a pleasant experience, smells fresh and is beautiful. room is very spacious with lots of little touches, up to-date comfort - if your looking for hotel greetings that is super nit picky stay away its all about the homey feel you might make a new friend. very easy to get to Edinburgh city by bus, the location is 2 blocks from the beach which we loved just getting away from the b.
Scotland amazed me with its history and people and culture and everything. I love Edinburgh, partly because I found Abercorn House. The McDonald gave me such warm welcome and hospitality. My room had a great view of this ancient house. This Georgian Style house must be built in 1870 and still in really good condition. Angela gave me a lot of advice on how to enjoy Edinburgh, and told me all about the castle. She helped me booked a one-day-guided-tour to Loch Ness and Inverness which was fantast.
More or less everything - welcoming, clean, furnishings, decor,
breakfast, etc. Angela is the most welcoming, friendly & extremely
helpful owner I have met. She never seemed pushed for time &
provided lots of local information - travel, restaurants, all Edinburgh
interest, plus anything you needed to know. Also, if occassionally she
wasn't there, her husband was available & didn't seem pushed
for time. Had a lovely stay & will book there again.
We loved the friendly greeting when we arrived, plus the welcome pot of tea after our long journey. Our room was great, comfortable, clean and quiet.Breakfast was enjoyable cooked fresh and hot.Would highly recommend Abercorn it too everyone wanting to visit Edinburgh.Which was in walking distance if you have an hour to spare or easily reached by the local buses that ran frequently from outside the B&B.

Nothing really, except for the weather!!.

Nothing not to like.
Little further out of city than i had expected, 30 min bus ride into city centre.
the only problem is the location because even if there are buses each 15 minutes to Edinburgh, the trip takes 30 minutes to arrive in the city center.
