My husband and I just had a wonderful couple of nights at Oldfields. What made it so special was how friendly the staff are - making us tea/biscuits on arrival and when we got back from a long day out the following afternoon, and giving us helpful info on Bath (where to go, where to eat out etc.). The hotel is well located (short walk from town centre, ideal if you want a really great Indian meal at the nearby Mint Room restaurant) and the rooms lovely. We had a deluxe four poster and it was.
kaikki arvostelut » We received a wonderful warm welcome from the proprietors,even though we arrived before usual check in. Time. We were given lovely tray of tea & bikkies in their gorgeous regency communal lounge while the attractions of Bath were explained to us. Even though we had chosen the less expensive loft room, the decorations were lovely & it was very comfortable, with a/con(which was very necessary because of the afternoon sun), which made the room very comfortable. Only 10mins walk into town d. The welcome was warm and freindly , the offer of fresh coffee hit the spot after a long drive. The room was as described and more ie the presentaton of the ensuite it was nice to see bottled water,china mugs and special biscuits, wine glasses and tissues. The view from the room looked over the garden which was buitifuly maintained. The breakfast was to die for, locally sourced a pleasure to wait for it to be cooked. The staff where very welcoming and freindly even first thing in the morning and. Elegant feel of the place, attractively designed rooms with all facilities including a proper hairdryer! Nice views. Very friendly and helpful people - who supplied fresh milk, iron and board etc brought to room despite it being in the eves. Very pretty room. Very comfortable, and with air conditioning. Incredibly delicious breakfast - highly recommend. All free range, special cured bacon etc, and option of scrambled egg and smoked salmon - all very very nice. High quality for the price. On arrival we were met by the receptionist and given a choice of tea or coffee and biscuits. She then asked the purpose of our visit and she recommended things to do in Bath. She informed us that they were part of the Big Ben discount which was useful when visiting the spa and selected restaurants and businesses. The room was lovely and the breakfast was outstanding! The service was excellent and friendly. Location. A reasonable sloping walk down into Bath. Double glazing plus secondary glazing cut out most of the road noise (I am a light sleeper!). Free parking. Very good breakfast. Good sized room and tastefully finished to a good standard. Even where the bathroom had been added to the room they had matched the Coving, it is small things like that which show the quality of the place. Staff was authentically friendly and went above the norm to make us comfortable and help with our trip. We arrived tired from traveling and they immediately made fresh tea for us, The accommodations were pristine and beautiful. There were fresh roses at our table for breakfast. Breakfast was both plentiful and delicious. Possibly the nicest lodging I have ever experienced. V. Warm welcome on arrival including a cuppa and information about Bath. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed -tv/dvd, Tea/coffee facilities + a little flapjack each, also a bottle of water, towels,flannels soap shower gel and shampoo, and a hairdryer - brilliant. The breakfasts were very nice indeed and all the staff we saw were very friendly. Good location.10 minute walk into Bath. Free parking on site.staff welcoming and friendly.nothing is too much trouble. We have stopped here on a number of occasions. And will continue to return when visiting Bath. We also came back to our room on our first night to find champagne and chocolates as a welcome for a returning customer which was a lovely surprise!!. The breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very clean and furnished to a high standard. Bathroom was very nice. Guest lounge very nice. All in all very nice & would stay again & recommend it. Gardens looked lovely. Really felt welcomed to stay here. Was booked for my husbands 40th as a surprise & didn't disappoint. Excellent location for the city. Staff extremely helpful and facilities superb. Breakfasts are lovely with a good choice, top quality and freshly cooked to order. We will be back as found bath and surrounding area has a lot to offer and there is a lot more we would like to see and do. We would definitely consider booking with oldfield house again. This B & B is not what it seems on first impressions. Out of the way in an old building. However on entering we were warmly received and given a quite larger room with a king bed. The room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is adequate and table service makes it very enjoyable. The staff are excellent. The exceptionally warm and friendly welcome from Karen, the assistant manager, followed up by that of the whole staff. 2. The excellent location for visiting Bath (bust stop outside to get you down the hill) 3. All the staff did everything they could to facilitae any wishes you had. Oldfields House was a real find and exceeded all our expectations. We were met with a warm and friendly welcome which included a tray of tea/coffee and biscuits. Our room was wonderful, spotlessly clean with a wonderful view of Bath. Breakfast was delicious. Can't wait to go again!. Attention to detail is excellent. Although it is a small hotel/B&B nothing has been left out and you are looked after and made to feel that nothing is too much trouble, as if you were in a five star hotel. I will definately be recommending to all my friends and will return. The room was very nice (16 four poster ) the service was brilliant with nothing being to much trouble for the staff. We had a great welcome with an introduction to the hotel and bath and even a discount card on our keys to use with taxi services, restaurants and attractions. The accommodation was excellent, very clean and comfortable. The staff were most helpful - greeted us with mulled wine and mince pies. Every attention to detail was covered. Location was excellent - walking into Bath took all of 10 minutes. Very, very highly recommended. It was probably the nicest place ive ever stayed! We stayed in the loft room, the bed was very comfortable and the room was lovely and cosy!. The whole hotel was spotless and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Great breakfast. This is a classy, hotel/B&B. We felt very comfortable, it was quiet; we enjoyed the common sitting area with available computer. On-site parking was important. Breakfast was very good and served very nicely. Location was very convenient. It was tastefully decorated and staff were really polite, friendly and helpful. We were offered tea in the (beautiful) lounge on arrival. It was in a convenient location to walk into town. It had small, but lovely gardens to sit in. Everything. All the staff were so warm and welcoming. The room was amazing, breakfast was delicious, the location is great. I would recommend to anyone visiting bath and will be sure to stay there again when I next visit the city. Everything! I love old world homes and they preserved the structure and atmosphere of it. I wished I was with a partner but alas not so. My mum was just as pleased. The manager had a problem in our bathroom fixed immediately. Everything was perfect. We had a room with lovely view of the city. The decoration of the room is very adorable. Breakfast was also nice. Wonderful experience!. Nothing. Nothing, though the 2 flights of stairs to the loft room may be a consideration for some. Room looked a bit tiered but was being addressed as an on going refurb of the house. Which is evedent as you walked through the door, which you can see in the lounge and dinning room . Very tight parking was a bit tricky. Nothing. Everything was perfect!. A very sharp turn into the entrance, especially if coming from Wells. Drive down, turn around and come back up. Parking is tight but is available. Nothing. The pillows weren't very comfortable for me - one wasn't quite enough but two was too high. But that is just a personal thing. Only comment was mattress could have been better- more sturdy. The hotel is a little out of town and up an fairly long hill. Walking to town takes about 15 minutes by accessing quite narrow and ( at night) dark stairs. Nothing to put in here, I am afraid. Nothing - everything exceeded our expectations. The hike up the hill to it!. N/a. Our loft room was on the small size but cleverly decorated. Our room, although beautifully furnished, was really rather small, with little room to move around the bed. The photo on the internet does not show this. The sink in the small ensuite was also small and tucked right into a corner and difficult to use. N/A. Not much just the entrance to the property. A tad difficult to find, exit out and enter into when driving the car. Dangerous corner might need a sign and exit mirror. I would like better lighting to read in the bedroom. Single room very hot and air conditioning not very effective. Also at top of house and difficult to transfer luggage. Nothing. Really tricky approach to house from main road and similarly on exit - I am a fairly new driver and found it quite challenging. Room was incredibly warm but was easily remedied by opening the window - would only have been a problem if the window was locked. Noicy and dull road to walk down to the ciy centre. nothing not to like. On site car parking was very tight and required patience and skill. Dragging luggage up to first floor was difficult. Nothing really, some may find the car park entrance a challenge in the rush hour but that is a small niggle and would not deter me from staying again or recommending the hotel. Nothing!. We could hear the other residents moving about. Nothing really - The walk into town was ok but a bit of a steep hill on the way back up to the hotel. But from up high, the views were fantastic. Nothing, at all. The only thing I would like to suggest is to offer dinner in the evening particularly if its cold and wet.. Bit of a hill to walk up from the city centre - the only complaint!!!. Nothing. Nothing. No WiFi in the guest rooms, only in the lounge.
