The location of the hotel is superb, right between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, yet in a quiet side road. Istanbul is a bustling, noisy, crowded place and the hotel was an oasis of calm after hard days sightseeing and haggling in the bazaars.
The restaurant is of Michelin star quality.
Arriving from a train at 11 am we were promptly given a

The location is fantastic - right in the centre of Sultanahmet and easy walking distance to the bazaars, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, cafes and restaurants and the Bosphorus. Beautiful hotel with plenty of history; we stayed in a deluxe room that was so comfortable and quiet with great facilities, views and service. The staff were all really helpful, friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!

The staff really knows how to do their job - discrete enough but always available and very friendly. The hotel is located in my favorite area of Istanbul, Taksim Square, so all the services are right downstairs. When I was too lazy to move further I went to the downstairs restaurant Kitchenette and enjoyed the athmosphere and food there. - Very goo

If you decide to choose a five star hotel, this is one of the most safe and satisfactory options. The value for money ratio is good. - Perfect central situation in Istanbul. In the main square, close to everywhere via subway etc. Very friendly, helpful and profesionnal staff. Excellent service quality. Wonderful view from the rooms. Very clean and well decorated rooms.
