We had no problems parking-and ended up seeing the hotel as soon as we
emerged from the garage-perfect! It's right next to the police
station, so very quiet and safe (not that other parts of the city

it was clean, nicely designed , bright, warm, open and friendly , just around the corner from the cathedral, but with ready access to taxis too. the staff , Diego and the young woman (whose name I didn't get) were exceptionally friendly and helpful ~~ in short a delightful place !!

We stayed for 10 nights, the hotel is on the edge of town , but everywhere is within easy reach. The Patron and his team were all very friendly and eager to please, we felt very welcome and looked well looked after.
A Guarda has the feel of old Spain, lots of friendly polite people, fresh local food and produce, and you feel welcome where ever you go. We stayed during the fiesta's and WOW the amount of people was amazing, but such a friendly atmosphere !

O Remanso dos Patos is a little gem of a hotel, situated in the truly beautiful Ribeira Sacra region. The hotel is full of character, and the restaurant is a delight. There is a lovely little swimming pool which is ideal for cooling off after a day's sightseeing- especially welcome as we arrived during a heat wave! Everything. This hotel is wonderfull. The location is perfect, at the apex of the waterfront, the grand avenues and the old city. A beautiful old building completely refurbished, and rooms were well appointed. The owners are very professional and very personable, and attentive to small details. I loved this hotel and made use of the pool and the spa facilities. I could have happily stayed longer than one night. Had a really nice lunch served by a lovely waitress who did not understand us and we did not understand her but we managed to communicate really well! Well done to her!
