Room was so clean, sheets fresh and crisp, so quiet, family run hostal, everyone including the parents pleasant and lovely. The two brothers do a marvelous job. Our train back to Barna was not til 530 so they kept our bags after we checked out at 9 am until about 4 when we started for the train. Excellent little french bakery right around the corner for breakfast. Many tapas bars on the c de Jesus half a block away. A hidden gem.
kaikki arvostelut » - Javier and staff did everything they could to help us, even with particular requests, and volunteered recommendations for us in the city, very friendly - We were given a choice of rooms on arrival - Great location, all of central Madrid was accessible - quiet, pretty street close to plenty of great bars, bakeries and restaurants - Would definitely stay again!. We were late getting to the hostal due to a train strike in France. Our overnight train from Poitiers France to Madrid was cancelled. We were in a panic trying to make alternative arrangements and it took all day to finally get to Madrid. One of the staff members waited for us and I will be forever grateful to that man. I could have hugged him!. There is a lift to hostal floor. The bathroom was very clean and new. The position is absolutely perfect for museums (Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssien) and tourist attractions. It is close to two metro stations. The wifi is free and it works in your room. Importantly, the service from the staff is fantastic. Fantastic location, friendly & helpful knowledgeable staff, spacious for a Spanish city center hostal, QUIET, super clean, adequate space for suitcases, 24 hr. access and check-in, good value in the basic no frills accommodation range. Family owned and operated. Fantastic restaurants and tapas bars nearby. We love the location and the staff . The place is very clean and neat as well. Its very suitable for people who wants to visit many places because the hostel is near many other good places to visit. I think this would be more like a guest house than a hostel. I would recommend people to come!. Very clean rooms and the location was convenient, close to Prado and Sol. The immediate vicinity is quite quiet, which is welcome after the busy streets of Sol, Gran Via etc. Staff were helpful when anything was needed. Perfect Madrid location for art, culture and food. Sorry but the long mono-pillow was difficult to sleep on as a couple. Also my tall husband found the double bed to be somewhat short. Although it did not bother us at all, I would not recommend it for persons with limited mobility, because you must be able to climb 3 flights of stairs. A little noisy in the morning and night. We can hear people walking in and out and also above us, we can hear people using the toilet. I was located close to main door/reception and could hear lift slamming at night, but am a light sleeper - I don't think it's something that would be a problem for most people. Nothing. No complaints. The room/bathroom were a little on the small side in the twin room, but with all basic needs covered. We were not in the room much so it was not a problem. Everything was fine. Minor issues - no shampoo in the shower and no kettle for tea!. Internet connection somewhat dicey at times. Otherwise, NOTHING we didn't like!. Noise, both from inside and outside, all night non-stop. However, for location in a city center, it is probably common problem for all hotels. Nothing negative to say. Shower position, direction shifted unexpectedly!. With a balcony out to the street, it was a little loud on Friday/Saturday night, but nothing too bad. Very short stay so not really in a position to dislike anything. Quite a small bathroom but, at the price, perfectly fine.we were a bit cold, but didnt ask for blankets so our fault! The air con was a bit gusty and not adjustable. One quibble: Not many electrical outlets in the room if you need to charge phone and laptop. none. I couldn't figure out how the elevator worked so ended up using stairs to 3rd floor location. Fine for me, but may be problem for some. absolutely no problem. hard pillows, room lighting and decoration could be improved. Nothing. Can be a little noisy.
