We really enjoyed staying at the hotel. Authentic Petersburg style:) It is very cosy, clean and it has really comfortable bed.This part of the city is not very noisy so no disturbance during your sleep.
I also liked that breakfast is delivered to your room, no need to get fully ready and dressed before you go to eat - you can enjoy it at the comfort of your own room. The toasts, eggs and sausages were just cooked before serving.

The Anchikov has only a few rooms and the staff really treat all of their guests like a kings and queens. The staff were superb and always on hand to help. The location was ideal and meant that everything in the historic heart of the city was within walking distance. The water cooler was very handy!

Without a doubt the best thing about this hotel is the location - it is situated right in the historic centre of St. Petersburg, all sights are very close - I managed to visit a lot in a very short time and didn't even have to use Russian public transport (which leaves a lot to be desired!!).

As for me the main advantages were:
1) less then $100 price
2) lightning-fast internet (no problems to upload/download hundreds of Mb)

The location of the hotel is excellent. We arrived to Moscow railway station, so it took us 5 minutes to get to the hotel. The staff is very polite and wellcoming. The hotel is very cosy and nice. The breakfast is very good. You may have coffee of tea any time you want. -

The location is virtually the best in Saint Petersburg. Very easy to find, very close to the metro, the main street full of restaurants and 3 minutes walking from the Hermitage Museum. Very clean, very simple, shared bathrooms (but clean) and a normal breakfast. Just perfect for a budget trip for a few days in the city, nothing fancy. -
