I have travelled a lot in my life but I think I never has got better value for money than this. Good cozy and comfortable rooms, great service and a fitness club including 25 m swimming pool on the ground floor. I did visit the new four star Hotel International that is in the same area but I would rather pay for staying at Moldova than staying for free at International. The location is great and I had an amazing view from my room. I stayed six nights and will stay there next time I visit Iasi.

The room was excellent: well-designed, comfortable, well-proportioned, comfy bed, great view from the window and very good location for the city centre and shops (right next to a large, brand new, well-laid out and very green shopping complex). Breakfast was buffet: varied and adequate. They kept in an intelligent the communist atmosphere of the hotel; If you are looking for an "vintage east-European communist hotel" this is for you. The room are super clean, well furnished ( massive wood furniture), nice bath. The view is great, in the very hart of the city. Great value for your money. Location of the hotel is very good, just a few meters away from Palatul Culturii, the Cultura Palace. I came with night train to Iasi and arrived at hotel at 0800 in the morning. I was very glad that I was allowed to check in to my room at this early time of the day. Excellent location, in the center of Iasi, next to "Palas Mall" The parking right in the front of the hotel. At the front desk, a very nice and sweet girl by the name of Daniela. Very nice selection at the breakfast room. Decent breakfast, way better than US 2-3 star hotel breakfast. Clean room, if dated... Some small details: I think the blinds in the room could have been darker and that the room should have had a full working desk - however when asking for a desk the excellent personnel arranged for one. The reception staff were rather surly; not terribly helpful but if pushed would do what you requested! At the other end of town if coming by train but the walk is doable (around 20 mins). If you arrive by train to Iasi, you will need to go with taxi tram to the hotel. No safe in room; 3rd room has a safe which did not work and was not bolted to the wall. I gave up. Grumpy staff, easily irritated by the simplest request of question. The lobby is very old, refurbishment is needed. Same for the breakfast room (we didn't see the restaurant but seem to be the same).Please change the yoghurt supplier! it taste orfull... i stay few time to see the negative points. Safe in room not working but a minor complaint. Very good value hotel. Breakfast was very odd and on the last day we ignored it completely. Nothing. Breakfast buffet could have more variety and better preparation. I expected a bigger pool but the gym section was ok;. Complex system for using pool Some staff unhelpful. Poor breakfast. The bed. bad breakfast. the "'90s character" of the hotel. Breakfast almost OK, but I don't recommend at all dinner in the hotel restaurant. Cold impersonal environment. Unconfortable beds. badddd breakfast!!!. The smell from the toilet. This smell comes from the drains system. how the personal taking to me. Some of pictures shown for hotel do not match with the real ones.
