Oslo Hotellit

My wife and I stayed here while she was attending a conference this year. The reception was great and our check-in was really fast and efficient. The room, with a double bed, was good, but not spectacular - although we had a great view of the Opera House and surrounding area. Our room was a bit dated, but given the hotel was used to house athletes during the 1952 Olympics it was nice enough. For our first time in Oslo this was an excellent hotel. Walking distance to everywhere! Having read reviews here at LetsBookHotel we were expecting some noise as we were staying over the weekend. The staff seems very aware that they get complaints about the nightclubs, and recommended a room on the 5th floor. In general everyone was very friendly and service was excellent. I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Oslo staying at the Grand Hotel. Having read previous reviews I wasn't disappointed that our room was dark and overlooking the courtyard. It was clean with plenty of space for clothes although they could have made more use in the bathroom with storage under the sink. We stayed here for 2 nights in January. Staff were friendly and helpful, you can leave your bags there before check in and after you've checked out. Our room was ok, it was clean, warm and big enough with wardrobes and shelves, bedside tables, coffee table. Bathroom wasn't too small and had a nice heated floor! I think for the price it's quite a good deal. You can walk pretty much anywhere but you're alos near buses/trams/underground if you're going further afield. - Lynda

After reading the reviews here, we gave it a try. We had concerns with air conditioning and noise, but the surprising cool July actually made us close the window and cut down the noise a bit. We did come prepared with ear plugs and thus were not bothered by the noise. The 6 o'clock trash truck for the dumpster right across from the hotel certainly made a huge noise. Other than these, the breakfast was excellent, staffs were great, and the location is just nice. It's 3 blocks from the metro stati - David

This appartment is a breath of fresh air compaired to staying at a hotel. It was quite easy to locate even late at night, just head towards the scuplture park and you cant go far wrong. The appartment itself was clean, modern and spacious with everything you could need ( Flat screen, wireless and cooking facilities) and is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. Travel to the center is easy with a tram situated right outside the scuplture park to the center costing aprox 25-28 NOK, dont forgot to val - Janet

having moved on from bergen I had 3 nights booked here at the Rica Holberg. I walked from the Central Bus station to the hotel, pretty straightforward , a walk of about 20minutes through the pedestrian area of the city.Useful for getting my bearings for later. I arrived prior to check in time but it was no problem to dump my case with the hotel , and go and get some lunch returning later to complete check in. We wanna recommend this excellent apartment hotel to the fullest. We had first a standard double, and then we extended our stay with 3 more nights in a doubleroom with separate bedroom for just 200 NOK more =) We checked in late at night via their keysafe system, and found the apartment warm (heated stonefloors) clean and comfy, and we could cook our own food and also wash and dry our clothes in this well equipped apartment.
