A clean and big apartment.
Can not get help if early arrival. No reception.
The location was right, the staff were warm, the kitchen facilities were helpful. The setting of the apartment is nice. We enjoyed our stay.
There was not enough mirrors and the sofas are too low and old-if you sit down without paying attention it may injure you.
The apartmnet is situated close to city centre - only 10 mins walk or 3/4 stations by bus or tram. However it is on the very busy street, inside the apartment is silence. Many shops and restaurants you can find in the immediate neighbourhood. It is fully-equipped; with all kitchen amenities and spacious living room area.
The apartment house doesn´t have any reception - the reception is only in the other hotel of the same hotel chain and you have to call there for coming the receptionist and receiving the keys of your apartment (so you call to the local norwegian number). No cleaning amenities (no brush, dust pan, mop ...) if you want to clean your apartment because the cleaning provided by char is only ones per week and sometimes you would like to do it oneself (mainly during your cooking) ...
Apartments very big nice clean. Wifi solid. Good for family who need to cook. Relaxing. Free laundry by yourself. You have to take tram 3 stops away from central station. Take tram no 17 and stop at heimdalsgata. Tram ticket can buy from 7elevan. Tram ticket very expensive my 2nd days I just walk from this apartments to central station it just 1km away but a lot of shop and thing to see. You can cover Helsinki city in 1 day every way just walking distance.
This apartments no receptionist. The staff will only attend to you when you arrived. Better ask her anything you need and you need to knows.

The pillows were thin. I also missed a coffee machine.

Unmanned reception. You have to call a local Oslo number and they meet you in front of the main entrance (it takes a few minutes, though). The bathroom in our apartment was very "basic" with no window and no ventilation system
The arrangement of check-in have to be improved.
Overall we had a good 5-night stay at Gruner. Better than expected. The girl who received us was really nice, and aswered well to all my questions. We had no problems with CHECK IN, I enable my mobile for international calls so after three times dialing the wrong numbers I finally reached them. Easy. Good LOCATION, not in city center but central. Near to bus and tram, several markets, botanical garden and its museums, Munch museum and others; Decent WIFI, even though I've conected to another apartments wifi cause mine wasnt working. CLEAN, simple DESIGN, and CONFORTABLE for a couple (room type: apartment). The KITCHEN appliances were new and worked fine, but dont try to make a real dinner, not pans enough. Common LAUNDRY was great too, you just have to buy your own powder, and I left the clothes to dry on the hangers from night to morning (summer time helped).
Location might not be good if noise bothers you. A few bars around and the buses passing in front of the hotel are quite noisy (at least for the apartments with windows to the street); kitchen didnt have utensils enough for both of us, actually there was just one cup of coffee, and I had to buy some disposable cup. The CHECK IN system is far from ideal, but if you prepare yourself, wont have problems.
Self-contained, un-cluttered, close to few shops and pubs, spacious lounge room. Few stops to central station or 20mins walk.
Initial access and check-in difficulties (having to call a local number, assuming every traveller can). Thin curtains (need to block outside light), lack of shower cubicle to restrain the water (wet bathroom floor afterwards)

Bedrooms a real let-down only barely room for the bed. Didnt like the area. Didnt feel safe.

Rm 302 needed darkening curtains ESP during solstice! Floor was sticky. But other 2 rooms were comfy and clean and had good kitchen Usage.
Everything is good. We love staying here.

Great location about a 10 minute (slow) walk to the centre of Oslo. It was excellent we could pre book a secure parking space. Great apartment facilities.
Noise of the street was too loud to even hear the television if the windows were open. The apartment was way too hot and no option of air con or a fan. It was about 27 degrees in Oslo when we visited.

Stated here for a couple nights and the 3 bedroom apartment was very spacious. Not a lot of bells or whistles but it did the job. There was car parking on site and very easy to walk around the city. There is no main reception but if you call a few minutes before you arrive they meet you. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again
The apartments are very close to the city center (10-15 min walking distance). The rooms are very clean and the staff very helpful. Be careful because the payment must be with credit card only. They do not accept cash. I recommend it!
These apartments are a bargain! Renovated, clean and spacious... Not very big bedrooms, but really big beds! Great temperature inside, hot water always running. 1st night we stayed, our credit card crushed and had no money to pay the hotel. She accepted a little upfront from one of our other cards, and was patient enough to wait till next day that we received money from Greece and paid... Also, because our plane was leaving 6 in the morning, she offered to store our luggage until 22 o'clock, free of charge (something unique in Oslo!). The area is 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Also, you may see many immigrants there but it is a lovely neighborhood and people around are helpful, so don't be afraid, it is not dangerous or something.
The only negative is that when our credit card crashed, they couldn't accept cash, so we were put in a very difficult situation, calling in Greece late at night and having our families deposit money on other credit card...

Situated centrally
It was well located with a supermarket just down the road and a easy walk into town and to the nice, if expensive, bars and vintage shops.
Not enough forks or bowls for 6 people.
We had a very pleasant stay en next year we will book again in december when we visit Oslo.
When we checked out, we didn't no that we must put the key in the box in the hall. They hadn't told us and so we hat to wake up the service to give the key. Not negative for us as well for the service-man.
The apartments are very well located near the city center. Almost everything is in walking distance. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped.
There are obvious signs of long time usage of the apartment. Cleaning could have been done a bit better. The entire floor was sticky because of undiluted cleaning products and a powerful smell of same substances was in the room. No reception and one has to wait outside for the check-in. The letsbookhotel.com phone was not working.
It is very close to the centre and it has very good public transport connexions with the rest of the city
For the price I paid, I was expecting more commodities and a nicer place.

The location was cetral and everything was accessible.
There is no reception and no service and hence if somthing goes wrong or doesnot work you get stuck.

The location is not too convenient, we have to walk on the first day toward the central train station, approx. 15 mins to 20 mins. Otherwise, please take tram or 31/30 bus to town, only takes 5 mins =]
The inside the apartment is ok with basic furniture but decent for the price.
The communication with the "reception" or company called ShortStay was very poor, no flexibility on payment cash/card, on arrival you have to call and a very unfriendly, unprepared person comes to open and receive the money. When asked to provide a receipt a print-out was given with no signature and faulty data. It took a lot of effort to re-do the mistakes but still no signature.

Curtains should be cleaner and thick especially during summers as throughout the night the sunlight keeps coming in the room despite the curtains, its too difficult to sleep. Right on the main road too noisy- trams and buses throughout the night.

there is no one to receive you if you happen to reach before check-in time and you may have to wait on the roads.The lady who did the check-in formalities appeared late by 1/2hr. and was very rude. The entire 3 bed-room apartment has only one toilet. Being on the tram-route,disturbing at night due to sounds of trams

The apartment was spacious, clean, well lit and provided with all the basic amenities. It has a garage with direct access to the flats at a very reasonable price. No on-site reception - you have to call but the agent arrived quickly and was friendly, efficient and helpfull.
Although not far from the centre of Oslo, the area is very run-down. Highly recommend hiring and arriving by car.

The apartment is on several bus routes and the number 17 tram line. It is in a neighbourhood--not just a downtown collection of offices and stores.
Initially access is difficult. Be sure to have a phone with you. The fumes from the Ankara restaurant next door penetrate the apartment at all hours. The bedrooms--we were in a 2-bedroom--are just big enough for the beds. No floor space. No hangers or space to hang things. There are no instructions about basics--laundry, garbage, recycling, etc. The kitchen equipment is lacking many key items.
The flats are quiet, nice, spacious and really well situated in a nice and lively part of Oslo. You've got plenty of tramways that can conduct you almost everywhere.
Unfortunately, the flat is really underequiped : very few dishes (only one breakfast bowl), not a single plate to put something in the oven, no toaster, ... Only two towels in the bathroom and nothing to put on the floor when the floor is wet. No decoration ... It could be so great with a few more ...

It was clean and not far from the central station. public transportation was conveniently located in front of the apartment. supermarket opposite of the apartment.
the double-bed was two single beds pushed together. the beds were hard and the springs are broken. the apartment was not sound proof, therefore it was very loud, especially if your apartment is facing the street and the tram is passing by. Also you can hear footsteps loud and clearly from upstairs. We had tough luck as the people upstairs had heavy foot steps. the reception was non-existent as the "receptionist" only appeared when you called her upon arrival. At least she was friendly.
