I booked for two nights but liked it so much I stayed four! The
Hostel inaugurated in Christmas Day, 2012! The building itself was
almost 100 years old, nicely remodeled to retain the charm of old
family homes, high ceiling and well-located atriums. Because of the
architecture and decor, walking in to the building was like walking
into the 19th century! The Common areas was very well ventilated,

I had a great time at Muntri House despite a little problem with the
overflowing of water coming from the bathroom sewega system. But they
were able to fix it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and
the place is ideal for walking around the area, shopping, mall, eating
and enjoying native Malaysian and Chinese food delicacies on street
especially at night.
The location is fantastic. In the heart of georgetown and close to love lane but good walking distance away from the bar noise and traffic. Aircon and fan are lifesavers after a day out. Lovely lobby, sets the mood and very welcoming.
The staff were fabulous, informative and inviting. The cleaning lady is lovely and does a great thorough job. Give her a pay raise.
I really like the design and heritage feel of the hostel,very unique experience and full of history house. The room i stayed was clean and comfort .Staff were very attentive and helpful with mu luggage to the 1st floor. Moreover , free simple breakfast and free flow coffee n tea is included in the good price. Location is very good too.Very value for money stay.

I stayed in the dorm and the value was excellent. They provided a nice breakfast in the morning. I left my key in the locker with my Passport and computer for the day accidently, and when I returned, everything was safe. Certainly not recommended. I felt safe here.

love everything about this guesthouse.It is kept very clean at all the time in the room and also the common area.Superb location as it is at the famous heritage trail in chinatown and short walking distance to everything you want to see in georgeorgetown.
For what I paid, I'm not sure how the hotel made any money. I had
air conditioning, (simple) breakfast, and all the tea or coffee I could
drink. My room was very small, as expected, but clean and comfortable.
The staff were very welcoming.

Stayed here for two nights. Breakfasts weren't super great but met my expected standard, perhaps slightly better since the accommodation itself is really cheap! Did have satisfying breakfasts. Clean and comfortable.
Nice place for budget travellers. Located in town center offers very convenient place to explore the city. Guesthouse is very clean with basic breakfast included. All the major hawker stalls are 5 min walk away.
I like the staff, they are friendly. I like the building, the decoration, and the overall atmosphere. Muntri House is situated in George Town which made it really easy to visit lots of places.
I liked that it was free wi-fi even in the room and that you could drink tea/coffee when ever you wanted + that you could refill your water bottles. In the dorms the safty box was really big.
The location is really convenient for travelers. Bed is soft and the blanket is clean. The staff will serve the breakfast just in front of you. Sitting in the common room makes me relax.

The location is great, walk distance to major attractions, but kind of difficult to find it if you've never been there before. Good value for money, free breakfast and coffee.
The guy is well prepared. Could ask everything. It s different from the
other house on the road. It s a tradional chinese house the other are
more modern and party style.
Everything works well, the shower the aircon. You can even do laundy and ironing. Staff are really helpful. In a quiet location so you will have a good sleep though.
It was in a very good location and the price was very reasonable. There was okay wifi in our room. Even though it's shared bathroom facilities they were very clean.

The common areas are not air-conditioned and it was hot. The dorm was air-conditioned. They should post the top 10 sites in the area, cost, public transit, etc.
- As there is a free space between the walls and the ceiling, even with
ac on it was very hot in the room - hot enough to make it hard to
fall asleep.
The one breakfast item had shrimp in it, and I can't stand seafood.
Oh, well. No big deal.

Sanitary facilities: no proper bathroom (one shower wsa too small, and the sinks were in a small terrace.
I didn't like that there wasn't any toilets without a shower in it. Because in the morning when you had to go to the toilets more or less all the toilets was occupied by people who were showering.
The door can be open without keys. So I think it needs to be fixed.
Some issue with drainage pipe of one bathroom... (Looks like a one
off incident).

The breakfast choice was awful, being western I did not fancy noodles for breakfast. There is no milk or coffee mate available for tea. The staff were okay but not overly friendly.

The wall are made of bamboo and so the privacy may be a bit low but still ok.
The place is a bit old. Only two bathrooms to share. Their front office is not 24hours so you have sort of a curfew. Some other hostel mates can get really noisy and disturb your sleep. The WIFI is not available in the room.

the double decker bed is very noisy, cant blame much about this I know

I didn't like that one of your stuff all the time sat on the internet at night. Even when we asked him for give us a few minutes for using computer he refused it.
It was very few toilets and showers and it felt a little bit dirty. But otherwise everything was good! You get what you pay for!.

The historical building is very nice but can be a bit noisy. We stayed in a room with inside windows and could hear everything. The staff is helpfull but do not quite show that they have joy in their work. For the rest a good stay!.
