Woodside Lodge is a great location with wonderful hosts--it is a just a walk into all the town activities, and it is in a quieter area. From Woodside Lodge, one can walk to shops, the Westport House mansion, restaurants, Matt Malloy's Pub, cinemas, the leisure center, and the the railway walk, which is a 2 kilometer walk down to the quay harbor area, or even take a 45 minute cruise of Clew Bay or take a boat to nearby Clare Island. The location is also perfect for those who are driving--you can.
kaikki arvostelut » We traveled in Ireland with our adult children and spouses and this was a great place to stay. All of us were able to gather in the living area with the fireplace burning each evening with our snacks and wine to go over the day's adventures and plan for the next. The location is a 12 minute walk from town on sidewalks, which allowed us the flexibility of not driving for dinner and shopping. Breakfast was made to order, hot and delicious. Helen and Patrice were great hosts who made us feel at ho. What a great experience we had at Woodside. Westport is a lovely setting and this B&B is situated in a perfect location to experience both the town and the surroundings. Patrice and Helen were most welcoming and were willing to assist us with all of our needs(thank you for the excellent restaurant suggestions and the printing of our Ryanair boarding passes). The B&B was very clean and the breakfast was wonderful. A great place to add to our Ireland experience. From the moment we saw the Woodside Lodge we knew that we had made the perfect choice for our stop in Westport. The building, the rooms, the location and the breakfast the next day were all fabulous. We loved our stay at Woodside!! This is a true gem; our only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer. We will definitely return and highly recommend it to others staying in the Westport area. Patrice and Elenor were amazing owners and did everything in their power to make our stay fantastic, it was a amazing B&B with a unqiue atmosphere, definitely a 10 out of 10. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had one of the best night's sleep and one of the best breakfasts on our trip to Ireland. Lovely location near to town centre and on the edge of the new cycle track. Owners very helpful and friendly.Will stay there again if I am back in Westport. Breakfast was wonderful. The room was spacious and comfy. We had everything we needed. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. Helen was lovely. Lovely place to stay, very welcoming, excellent breakfast. The walking distance to town was not that long but there was a steep hill you had to go up to get to town and then an even steeper one to return to the inn. The accomodation did not look like the photos and was a bit disappointing.
