  The friendliness of the staff. They spoke English and Spanish which helped because we spoke little French. The room was so comfortable. The shower, hot pot and view of the Repulique were all a plus. Can't wait to come back to see the new hotel renovations. Excellent Metro locations. Safe area. Easy taxis service.   It turns out the General Hotel was overbooked, so they rebooked me into another hotel, member of the same chain, Le Quartier Bastille.   Very nice hotel. Nicely decorated room, comfortable bed, delicate bathroom, friendly staff. We had our baby with us, and the hotel offered a baby cot free of charge. Also, the location is great. Just around the corner you have Place de la Republique with several good places to have breakfast / brunch. Our favourite was Café de la Republique. I.e. this is a good locatio - The staff were really helpful and were happy to put our stroller in the cloak room each night so we didn't have to struggle with it in the tiny elevator. Also we had left a small item behind and they were happy to post it back to us. The rooms are small, but it was enough for our little 18 month old to roam around and stretch his legs.   Fantastic apartment, the bathroom had a large walk-in shower, there was a separate kitchen/diner, bedroom and lounge with a double sofa bed so lots of space to put the kids to bed and settle down. The kitchen was superbly equipped with tea/coffee provided.   The hotel is great because it is friendly and clean and our room had a great view of the roof tops. La Marais is a very interesting and atmospheric location. It is easy to access the Seine and other places of interest. We especially enjoyed the Jewish quarter and the falafels.   The room was compact but there was everything you needed including lots of space to hang clothes. The breakfast was really lovely - lots of choice and a variety of fresh products. The location is fantastic - you can get all around Paris easily from Republique metro. The room was very clean and the shower was great. The room was very quiet. The attitude of staff was most helpful as well. Cleanliness was tops, and a nice change from some hotels I have found in the past. All in all, everyone did all they could to help me during my stay. Also for someone who isn't a good sleeper, the quietness of the hotel was most pleasing.

  Room was beautifully designed and lit, bed was very comfortable indeed and the staff were incredibly helpful. Breakfast was great too - all in all a brilliant place to stay - First time in Paris a hotel room is that big! Really luxurious feeling and comfortable. Also wifi worked properly, fats and reliable. Not used to this.

  Very friendly and helpful staff.  We had a free upgrade to the executive room and they are massive rooms with the biggest bed you've ever seen. Very nice bathrooms with shower and bath.  We had a street facing room and the noise was no problem at all.
