We enjoyed our stay thoroughly - in a suite on the top floor with a beautiful terrace with a view of the Palace of the Popes, where we had our welcome champagne in the afternoon sun and watched the night lights over the palace after dinner. Nice mattresses and pillows. I am allergic to household dust - and there was no reaction, which proves the cleanliness of carpets and curtains. Fantastic atmosphere, oil canvas on the walls, antique furniture pieces - an experience of time travel. The foo.

Extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself is beautiful and well located, walking distance to the shops and Pope's palace. The rooms are huge by European standards and well appointed. We will definitely stay here again. Second time staying there. Its a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Set your gps for the hotel as Avignon is a maze. Staff was amazing. Our room was slightly noisy, being that it faced the street and there is a lot of alfresco dining taking place well into the night, across, which is something to note if traveling with younger children. You may want to ask for a room not on Crillion. Also, and this may be a little picky, but there was no turn down service (+!water replenishment, treat), which is something you kinda of come to expect when staying at a 5star. Restaurant access denied when clearly not full. I wish I could have spent a month rather than a week in this hotel!. Front rooms on the square can be noisy. Quality of toileteries not up to par. 1. a not pleasent odor in the room (like old carpets or furniture). Would love to have a pool or spa Front desk was unhelpful with dinner reservation. I requested a dinner reservation at another restaurant and was told that hotel Europe was better " if I cannot get a reservation there, I will make a reservation here". Of course we were told an hour later that the other restaurant was full and they booked us here. We declined and walked over to the other restaurant at 8pm and got in easily. nothing.
