Opened in the summer of 2012, Hostel Canki offers air-conditioned rooms and dormitories with access to a shared kitchen and free Wi-Fi in the lounge area. Airport transfer service and massage treatments can be arranged. All units have wardrobes with safety boxes. Guests have access to a shared bathroom and a common lounge area. The hostel is located approximately 1 km from the Old Town of Zadar, where guests can find the Church of St. Donatus, the Cathedral of St. Anastasia and the remains of the Roman Forum. The Sea Organ is at the charming Riva Promenade, which is within a 15-minute walk from Canki Hostel. The bus and train stations are 500 metres away, while the international airport is at a distance of 11 km.

I had an excellent time here. Even though I initially booked for one night I ended up staying three nights.The owner Marko is a great guy. He let me borrow his bicycle, took me and the other guest out for drinks and does anything to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay. The hostel itself is really clean and has comfortable beds. Its situated in a nice quite neighbourhood. Just 10 minutes walk from the old center and is near a shopping mall where you could find anything you need. I hope to .

The hosting family is very nice and helpful. The other thing I would like to point out is that everything was included in the price unlike other places. The central transport junctions are just a five minute walk, a central mall is in the opposite street. The old town is also a few minutes of walk away - I could not have asked for better from a random . I had a great time staying here. It was like a home away from home, small and friendly. Marko was great and made you feel welcome, couldn't do enough for you, so helpfull with trips, drinks out and renting car. For backpackers on their own I couldn't think of anywhere better to stay. There seem to be no procedures: no check-in or check-out, no rules, not times that I've been told for check-in or check-out... it's basically: "oh, you have a reservation? good! just choose a bed, here's the bathroom, here's the wifi code, enjoy your stay!" Very relaxed and nice!. It is very clean and quite. Family that run this hostel is very kind and they will give you any information that you need. Hostel is very close to old part of town and to the beach. Near there is big shoping centre. I had great time here and I recommend this hostel. The proprietor Marko was a fantastic host, and was clearly interested in helping us to enjoy our stay in Zadar as much as possible. The accommodations were not luxurious, but were exceedingly sufficient, and at a fantastic price. Close to the main bus station and old town. The place was clean. It has 2 bathrooms. The hosts were helpful and friendly. They have lockers for each bunk beds. There was a kitchen that we could use. Marko, the host, is really nice !! He always is available to show the city and help !! really amazing !! The place is clean and it takes 10 minutes to walk from the hostel to the old town. Staff very friendly and they have lovely pets around. Air conditioner was perfect during the summer and the location is a very quiet area. thanks to Marko and his mom for their kindness, I had a great time there meeting them and the ones I shared the room. Great hosts, close to the bus station and old town (10 minute walk to both), had a great time. Beds very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming. Very friendly owners I feel like a part of family :). Great host. Quiet location. Thumbs up. clean and nice staff. Relaxed aptmospher. location. very cozy town, kind and warm staff(actually host), comfortable, clean and safe room & place, near by old town. Can't think of anything. Kitchen area was small only one knife and no kettle or tea pot but made do with a pot on the stove. That was it though other than that I can't fault it and for the price it was great. Even though the place was clean but the kitchen was a little bit dirty/untidy. No soap in bathroom. Room was slightly shabby but was fine for our needs. there are a lot of mosquitoes in the room!. Not so central but close to bus station. not clean dishes, some mosquito bites, no key for either a room or the entrance.
