The location was very central, walking distance to most attractions, and we loved the huge entrance doors and the beautifully renovated light interiors.
We made good use of the kitchen area for cups of tea, breakfasting, and also chocolate from the vending machine. The computer was useful for checking weather and emailing home, but wifi would be good to have if possible.

Hotel has been renovated and now it's a modern hotel in the heart of old town. Excellent location! Really close to all main attractions. And in spite of that you won't be disturbed by noise. It's quiet because the hotel stands at back street (but nearby Dom, Residence etc.).

Sandra, the owner, was wonderfully helpful. She speaks German, Italian, English, and some French. We were driving, and so the free parking was a bonus (Salzburg has very expensive parking.) The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and really made our surprise birthday trip with all of their attention to detail. The room was large and spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom excellent. Breakfast was superb and well worth the money, and the location outside the city centre is no problem as it's easily walkable (15 minutes along the river) or 5 minutes by bus. I would return to this hotel without hesitation.
