  We loved our stay! The hotel was beautiful and spotless. The complimentary breakfast was also very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our family room (slept 3) was beautiful. It had a nice, large bathroom and everything was very clean. We felt it was reasonable priced and only a short walk from the train station and shops. They also has great suggestions for child-friendly places to eat and a wonderful location where we could walk wherever we wanted to go. Our room was also very comfortable with more than enough space for us and all of our kids accessories.

Provided useful information of places to visit, eat and drink - Free parking at the house - Windemere town is a few minutes walk and the lake approx 15mins walk (or £3.50 taxi) - Clean comfortable room - Direct access to room from garden by the car park making it easy to bring in bags and not disturd anyone if getting in late - Free WiFi - Good breakfast - Excellent value for money given the cost of hotels in the area. The hote - Loved everything about our stay here. Really friendly and helpful staff who are all a credit to the hotel. Room had great view across to the lake. Large comfy bed, loads of storage space, hot and powerful shower, huge bath towels and more. Would definitely recommend evening meal at hotel. Food cooked to order so served fresh and hot. We had soup followed by scampi and rump steak. Very filling, very tasty and very reasonably priced. Bottle of cabernet sauvignon also went down very well! Breakfas

Martin and Sue are wonderful, warm hosts. Breakfast was delicious each morning! Our rooms were charming and comfortable.   Everything was exceptional. The place is a typical country house with very clean rooms with white crisp towels and bed linen. Breakfast was something I used to look forward to every morning which was really good. Location was just right as we were travelling by car and few mins from windermere centre. Would definitely go back there if we travel to Windermere - I am a wheelchair user (complete paraplegic) and found the access to be excellent. I would go as far to say that Meadowcroft is probably one of the best places I've stayed for disabled room facilities. The option to book a disabled room from the website is a very good touch, I usually have to phone ahead to confirm that the room is appropriate for my needs and available, which this function eleviated, if only other sites/hotels did this. The room was spacious, comfortable and extremely clean. T
