We are 3 friends and stayed in this hotel for a week in May'13.
Location is really perfect. This hotel is best for a city-trip. It's 5 minutes walk to Hagia Sofia and Blue Moscue. Tram station is also not so far.
The building is a historic one, after the restoration. Living in a tradition house is a special experience for travelers.
Staff is extremely kind and helpful!
Breakfast is quite simple but absolutely enough to start your day in Istanbul!

The staff here make the place what it is. They are all amazing and hilarious and work super hard to make your stay comfortable. The hostel is also a hotel and restaurant and bar and sheisha bar and the food is delicious and not too expensive. If you are a musician then they have guitars. a violin, bongos, tambourine and another crazy turkish instrument which I don't know the name of. Best hostel iv stayed in and Iv stayed in many many hostels!

The Tulip hotel is extremely clean. The staff is very helpful, friendly,
accomodating, and speaks great English. The location is wonderful - very
convenient to all the major sites in Sultanhamet (Blue Mosque, Topkapi,
Hagia Sophia) as well as the great public transit network. Breakfast was
quite nice. The showers were wonderful, and had lots of hot water. They

The dorm rooms and facilities are amazing with private curtains for the beds as well as some of the nicest bathrooms/showers I have ever seen in a hostel. It is centrally located in Sultanahmet or the old town of Istanbul that was formerly Constantinople. It is within walking distance to many of the historical attractions such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern and Topaki Palace. Nice breakfast at the terrace - though the terrace is in another hotel (5 min walk) which was weird.
Rooms are okay - middle level but clean.

Although we had reserved the Appart Hotel Hippodrome we were lodged at the Hippodrome Hotel. We found the hotel very good, extremelly well located, and with a very good quality- price ratio in november.
